Working on my fitness...

So I have been working out pretty consistently for a little over a year now. Lately I have been trying to go at least 3-4 times a week to the gym. Also on days I work (Mon-Fri) I walk for a half hour at lunch and during my 15 minute break at 3:30. It helps if I have some NPR podcasts to take along with my on my Ipod.

I am also trying to eat under 1500 calories a day, and making sure I am keeping it healthy and balanced. I think I have mentioned this site before Fit Day. I love it. I can keep track of every thing I eat, and see what areas I am in lacking in. Like if I need more protein. The graphs and custom nutrition goals are nice too.

I do run now when I am at the gym, but typically for twenty minutes tops and then I do "circuits". I think I would burn more calories if I focused more on the running though. I would also like to be able to participate in some the runs and walks for charities in the future. I read this article yesterday: http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml
I think I am going to follow it and see how it goes. I think that in combination with some strength training after would be a great work out. I have a little bit of weight doing what I do now, but I think will really get me in shape. Plus I just like running, it's a nice way to release all the tension that builds up during a stressful day.

P.S. My friend Audra and I are going to this on Saturday: http://www.tallyfitnessfestival.com/
I am really looking forward to it.
