Thus we begin anew!

Here we go again!  It's that time of year, well, almost!

I managed to get in a few short rides this winter, but nothing much.  Maybe 20-30 miles total?

Anyway, I did gear up for winter, and I was smart enough to buy gear that would be useful for spring, too.  By useful I mean it can keep me warm when I start out, and can easily be peeled off as I ride.  Yes, it's the way we roll in the bicycling world.

Most of you will remember that I spent much of last year on the sidelines, injured.  Well, there's good news and great news.  The great news is that I'm smart enough to easy my way back into the groove this year.  The good news is that, while it seems to be working okay for my shoulder, my wrist is definitely not 100%...but it held up through the second and third rides today, anyway.  A definite plus in my book!

I did an 8 mile ride yesterday, a 12 mile ride today, and two 6.5 mile rides this evening.  My cyclocomputer is out of commission, has been for months, so I have no idea what my top and average speeds were, but I will try to fix it the next time I'm near a bike store (I need a particularly skinny zip tie and possibly a new battery for the transmitter).  Yes, I'm still lusting after the Garmin Edge 305, which I will eventually get.

Anyway, I feel good...really good.  A little sore, but good.
