So we - on purpose this time - went to NJ last night to see Carbon Leaf again. And we did! And it was fabulous! And Terry showed us adorable baby videos!
I'm sure
thunderemerald will post their setlist, if she hasn't already and if you ask nicely, but what I want to talk about is the awesome way in which they change their songs. I'm not the best at recognising songs by their instrumental intros, but I know Carbon Leaf well enough to recognise most of them. Except when they take their old songs and completely revamp them with awesome new guitar stuff. Their guitarist (/banjo/mandolin/fiddler) is so f-ing amazing I don't even have words. And his solos are beautiful and stunning and change so much and I'm just enraptured watching his hands.
And so post Yom Kippur I'm adding another New Year's resolution; more music playing for me this year. (I'm actually doing pretty well at my other resolutions, though it's only been a month.)
