i think i've delayed this too much
Back in this entry, i listed the anime I was gonna watch, or at least check out, this season.
Here's my opinions:
Dragonaut: I thought this was going to be good. The animation quality is quite poor. The "dragons" which are kind of like living mechas, are done using very very cheap looking CG. They have also begun to reuse stock animation. The story is also a bit weak. Think 5th element, with a looming evil planet. But instead of AWESOME bruce willis, there are two emo fags. The main girl and guy romance is actually kind of sweet. I'm pretty sure that's the only reason i'm still watching this show. Ooh! I DO like the opening theme to this. Comes out the 21st i think.
Shakugan no Shana: It's definately gonna get good. Yuji has become very strong. Unfortunately, we haven't seen much action aside from the first two episodes (there's 6 now) , in which Yuji wasn't doing any fighting. The series has fallen into a "character/romance development lull, that is not very enjoyable to watch. (for character/romance development that IS fun to watch, see below)
CLANNAD: Holy crap this is so good. Kyo Ani is so good at taking something that doesn't have much of a linear, day based story (like hentai games) and turning into something where the characters are very well rounded, they crack jokes, they're really goofy and I actually laugh! Usually anime jokes just leave a sour feeling, but holy fuck. This show is funny. Much less dramatic than Kanon. I feel like the show is more focused on the daily lives and humor than everyone's problems. Though peoples problems do show up de temps a temps.
Kimikiss Pure Rouge: I watched the first episode. I don't think i can watch a full season of two clueless guys being clueless about girls. I'm sorry. In this one episode i screamed "oh just fucking grow a pair" twice. I haven't heard any rave reviews from anyone either. Dropped.
Rental Magica: Oh god. I can't believe i watched this garbage. Plot is that there's some "magican for hire" business in which a bunch of girls and one guy follow this one guy who's incredibly weak. We see his real power at the end of the episode when he takes off his eye patch and reveals this demon looking eye that can see shit. Using this eye he tells everyone where to aim their attacks, and the battle is over the magicians are victorious over the demon. ugh. Harem show. Weak main character. Weak plot. I hated this. HATED.
Shinreigari/Ghosthound: This is GOOD. I think it's animated BEAUTIFULLY and directed very well. There's only one episode out right now, so i don't know much right now other than what i've read. Main character disappeared with his sister 11 years ago. Only he came back. Ever since then he's been insomiatic and narcoleptic. He sleeps only at random times during the day; that's when he can see his sister again. We've also run across a girl who can see him when he's floating around. There's apparently a couple of other kids who can do this too. What's the connection between these three youths? We shall find out eventually i hope.
One unexpected one, and i'm sure you know what i'm about to talk about.
Moyashimon: Uhm. It's about a boy who can see microbes. Yes. This is an anime for biology geeks. .It's amazing. You don't even have to like bio as much as I do to find this freaking hilarious. But it helps.
