Also, still not dead

Just watched a movie in Thai - what a novelty! Bangkok Love Story.

This fucking movie.

This fucking movie would be a lot better if they did the following:

1) Turned on a goddamn light. Seriously, I couldn't even tell what I was looking at 90% of the time, let alone who. I could mostly make out Iht (who a week from now, I will only remember as Thai Jang Geun Suk) because he had short hair and walked around in his underwear for half the movie. Tightie-whities are easy to see in the dark. It's a shame, really, since this is one of those rare occasions where the characters aren't talking their heads off so I could in theory look at their expressions and memorise their faces.

2) Have more dialogue. The subtitles were about all I could see of this movie besides Iht's ass and they weren't fucking talking. Just staring moodily or forlornly away from the sunset (backlit, nice. Even when it's lit, I can't see a fucking thing) while some shitty music plays ad nauseum in the background.

3) Get better music. I can't see, there's nothing to read, and on top of that, there's this shitty typical BL movie music going on. Ugh.

4) Go faster. It was just too damn slow. Well, okay. This was a BL movie and this is par for the course for BL movies. They're always slow and maudlin as fuck. I don't know why I even bother to watch them. I think I've only liked 3 out of, like, 12 or something. How many live-action BL movies have I watched? I should count one day.

5) Also the bad guy sends a hitman after them, they proceed to kill the hitman and not move from their hideout and nobody else managed to come for them? What? That is some k-drama logic* right there.

6) Then they had the nerve to have a delightfully depressing ending when I was too annoyed at not being able to see anything to appreciate it. -_- I like sad endings, damn it.

In conclusion, wanted to like it, hated it. Am probably going to watch another BL movie next week now that I've remembered they exist.

Next up: No Regrets. It's in Korean, so at least it will sound familiar. Thai sounds kind of like... brusk Chinese, I guess? I suppose I'd get more of a feel for it if I listened to it more like I did with Korean...but I don't foresee that happening.

Anyway, that's enough rambling for the night.

*k-drama logic - by which you can walk out of your jail cell (albiet by timey-wimey magic) and the cops won't even look for you. He didn't even hide, just went home for christ's sake! I can buy a random time-portal in the forest, but that was ridiculous
