Awesome Astoria Apartment

Nov 19, 2008 22:55

Helping out my buddy Kenn. He's getting screwed by the guy who just moved in when I moved out. What a douchebag. Please let me know if you know anyone interested. Any friend of a friend of a friend...

Details:
One of our roommates will be returning to his home state to be with his family. It was very unexpected. He would like to move out on the 15th or 19th of December, however if we can find someone that can move in before then that is ok too. The room is $800 a month with an $800 deposit. The utilities and cable are split four ways.

We are looking for someone long term and not for someone short term! If you are interested in seeing the apartment then send us an email. Please tell us a little bit about yourself, and the best way to contact you.

THE APARTMENT:
The Apartment is a renovated Dentist Office, so it is a quite unique place. It’s a four bedroom apartment, however we only use three of the bedrooms as bedrooms. The fourth room we use for storage. Which is great, because storage is hard to come by in NYC.

We have a living room, dinning room, kitchen, and bathroom. The bathroom was completely remodeled by our landlord right before I moved in. The kitchen was partially remodeled. A new stove and refrigerator was put in as well.

We have wireless internet and cable. The utilities and cable/internet are split four ways.

We have plenty of plates, bowls, glasses, pots, pans, etc. We also have a microwave, blender, and a coffee machine…. So there is no need to bring any of those items.

THE ROOM:
The room is 12.5’ x 9.5’ and has four large windows. The room also has a walk-in closet which is 5.9’ x 3.1’ and 9’ high. So, with the closet and storage room there is a lot of space to store things. The room will not be furnished.

If someone would like to take the storage room instead of the bedroom we are offering then we can easily change the room we are offering into the storage room.

Again, the room is $800 with an $800 deposit.

US:
There are two males and one female that will be living here. One guy works in film/tv, the other is an opera singer, and the girl is a nanny. The two males are in their early 30s and the girl is in her late 20s.

We are all CLEAN, respectful, and easy to get along with. We are all very laidback and easy going.

We all eat meat, however we have had vegetarian roommates in the past.

THE TYPE OF PERSON WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
We are looking for someone that is CLEAN, and doesn’t mind doing their part to keep the apartment clean. We are not neat freaks, but we like to keep the common areas nice.
We are also looking for someone that is respectful, friendly, and fun. We are NOT looking for a smoker. If you are the type of person that is up for getting a drink every once in awhile that would be great too! We are looking for someone long tern… NOT short term. You should also have a job, we are looking for someone who is responsible and that we can count to pay the bills on time.

THE AREA:
Astoria is a great neighborhood. It has quite a variety of restaurants and plenty of shops. There are three grocery stores in the area that are near by. There is a laundramat, dry cleaner, and shoe repair shop across the street from the apartment. There is a nice café that is two blocks away that has wireless internet. On 30th Avenue there are plenty of restaurants, delis, 99 Cent stores, a video store, etc. There is a decent night-life scene in Astoria as well. Some places worth mentioning are The Beer Gardens, Rapture, The Irish Rover, Café Bar, Grand Café, and Flo. There is a big NYC Sports Club two avenues away. Target and the Queens Center Mall is six subways stops away. The Museum of Moving Images and huge movie theatre are close. At the Astoria Blvd stop there is a Staples.

To get here one would take the N or W to either the 30th Avenue Stop or the Astoria Blvd Stop. One can also take the R train to the Steinway Stop.

It only takes about 15 to 20 minutes to reach Times Square from Astoria. The first stop in the city is 59th and Lex which is an Express Stop… So, you can get uptown or down to Union Square fairly quick.

There are two bus lines that run into the city as well. One goes across Steinway and crosses over the 59th Street Bridge ending at 2nd Ave. The other crosses the Triborough Bridge and then crosses 125th Street and ends just south of Columbia University on Broadway. The BQE is not far, and there is a bus that stops one small block away that can take you to Laguardia Airport.
