I'm always surprised when people remember the date they began their LiveJournal. I had only the vaguest of ideas, and turns out, I was wrong even about that much. Today I saw someone else's announcement, and decided to look. I was surprised to discover that this past Monday was the fifth anniversary of the day I started this space. I'm not a big collector of stuff. Once upon a time I liked stuff more than I do nowadays (although even with my amicable separation from stuff, I seem to have accumulated a ridiculous amount of clutter in the space of a few years).

I think I got this link from wisteria_ . In any case, I should probably read it every day, and try to put these principles into practice. I have a lot of trouble with this stuff.

Today I have to do laundry, write most of a paper, and download some data. So far I've done a little bit of work, no laundry, and lots of staring into space (or browsing the Internet, essentially the same thing).
