Happy Halloween!

Hi everyone,

I've had a pretty low week. I'd been feeling relatively happy since the weight loss and change in food habits but something changed recently - maybe stress from thinking of Halloween and Christmas events. I thought it might get better once I finished the Halloween event, but I wasn't really happy with how it went so that made it worse. I was so tired after the event I took a nap for around an hour on the sofa. I could feel my legs and arms tingling from exhaustion and when hubby came up to ask if I wanted him to go to COSTCO to buy dinner, I could barely speak.

After the nap, I got out of my costume and also decided I was in serious need of some chocolate so I made myself some chocolate almonds (melted chocolate coating almonds, cooled in the freezer for a bit). Audrey came to see me from her room too. She hadn't come to the event with us because she had tennis matches to go to - she didn't play in any of the matches but she had to go to cheer her team mates. We had some serious hugs - hugs in our house last a looong time, especially between Audrey and I. We seriously cling to each other for quite a while. We sat cuddling and she asked me how the event was and I explained everything that went wrong to her.  While I did, I figured out a way to make it better in my mind, so I feel a bit better now. MOMS NEED CUDDLES TOO!

Dinner was fine. We ended up looking at old photos of Audrey after we started talking about how I used to make caramel apples at the Halloween event long ago, which led to how cute Audrey used to be in her costume. I showed her my icon on LJ, then my old posts on aajmama. Hubby and me/Audrey got into a bit of a disagreement about when Audrey got first place in the sports day sprint so I stayed looking through my LJ posts to find the pics and video I posted. Then I started reading posts around those times and it was really interesting to find posts around Halloween three years ago which was about a similar situation to what I am in now. I was depressed due to various reasons, one being that the number of participating students in the events (not only Halloween but Christmas too) was really low. Halloween was actually lower than this year.  We are also seeing lower numbers applying for the Christmas even this year so far so that is similar too.  That year, my mom came to visit and helped me get out of my slump. But I think I am prepared for it now and knowing I went through the same thing three years ago and survived, I am ready to tackle what comes along.  Maybe I am finally out of my slump!

I also found a funny post from around that time too and had a nice laugh.  So here are some Pinterest funnies for you all.  I can post some Halloween pics later but my phone battery died and I can't use my phone or send my photos to my scrapboook until I go to the store tomorrow.   The kids were sooooo cute!!

I hope you had a fun Halloween or quiet peaceful Halloween, whatever you felt like<3  And thank you all again for being here.

(These  go out of proportion when I post and look at it after posting - let me know if you can't see it properly!)

funny, audrey, halloween, my day
