1. What luxury is totally worth the price?
Recently I went to a hairdresser that is over an hour away, for a cut and highlight job and it took the whole day and the transportation cost itself cost me quite a bit. BUT I was so glad I went. This hairdresser knows me and my hair, and he gave me exactly what I wanted. It made me very happy.
2. What is the most unique or silliest problem you have going on in your life at the moment?
I don't think my problems are very unique... unless, you put in the cultural aspect of living in Japan... hmmm. Oh, here is a funny thing that happened today because of a cultural difference. I went to a choral festival with my choir. One of the members' husbands drove us. While we were in the car, I found out that my group had ordered me some lunch, but I had brought a pack lunch and didn't need it. I suggested that this husband have my lunch since it would go to waste otherwise. When we got to the site, I suggested it again but he kept saying something like (in Japanese), "I really couldn't take your lunch," over and over. I thought he was refusing because he didn't want to rob me of my lunch, by the way he was deflecting. But actually, he was trying to be super polite while he told me he would rather go out to eat at a restaurant than eat a pack lunch for choir members. I don't know why but I couldn't catch that and I made a fool of myself trying to force him to eat my lunch LOL Japanese people are so round-about sometimes, and you really have to be on your toes to figure it out, otherwise you can be quite rude.
3. If you were so wealthy you didn’t need to work, what would you do with your time?
Work, probably. LOL I would love to just have the freedom to work without having to worry about income. But I would also go on trips and stay at hotels or buy a summer home and have proper vacations with my kids. University fees have made us pretty poor at present and I am feeling depressed that we can't go anywhere.
4. What is the most tedious and/or the most exciting sport to watch?
The most tedious sport maybe is cricket - mostly because I don't know the rules.
The most exciting sport is ice hockey - but LIVE. All that smashing around on the rink is very exciting when you are THERE.
5. What do you think the ideal age to be is?
Whatever age we are at now is the ideal age. We need to go out and enjoy all the various aspects of it!
