Update

Corona seems to be wrecking havoc in the States and a Japanese doctor there warned that it was only a matter of time till we see the same here.  Not a happy thought.

School is over for spring break except for a couple of makeups.  We cancelled the Sat makeup because we were "asked" by the government to stay home as much as possible during the weekend.  Our Easter Picnic is still planned for the 5th, but we may cancel if the virus progresses as it has.  The school is planned to start classes on the 7th and I am wondering if we will be lengthening Spring break for another week.  I guess it depends on whether public schools start on time as planned at the moment.  On-line lessons are something I am wondering about too at this point.  I know some schools have already started doing this, and maybe the faster the better.

Audrey had the shortened version of her graduation last Tuesday.  It was nice not to have to sit through all the speeches by government officials etc., but sad not to hear the grade 5/6 goodbye songs.  The sixth graders sang a couple of songs on their own, but because they didn't have any time to practice, it was all in one voice and not as nice as it could have been.  It was obvious that the walk up to the podium wasn't practiced either.

Friday we went out for some sushi to celebrate Audrey and Julian's graduation.  We reserved a small room so it felt safer than if we were in a big room with other customers.  Hubby wanted to go out since it would be a while until we could do it again after Alex came home.

Yesterday was a warm day and I took Hana out for a walk.  The weather forecast said snow today so there were many dogs and their owners out.  We met many friends we had not seen in a long time.  Hana loves meeting her friends, but I guess social distancing doesn't just go for people.  We will have to keep our distance for a bit.

Today we woke up to snow, just as predicted, but it changed to a drizzle by lunch.  We have what we need to stay indoors today.  We have been spending our time cleaning Alex's room.  He is coming home from Belgium tomorrow, and if he is not tested positive at the airport, then he will be spending two weeks in isolation here, at home.  We are going to switch his room with Julian's for a couple of months, so that he can use the washroom and bath without contact - Julian's room is the most isolated, and right next to the washroom.  It is quite important that I don't catch the virus and pass it on to anyone at the school.  Hubby has told Alex he must come home through public transportation - by train - for the least risk to anyone, and just in case people panic, we aren't to tell anyone here of Alex coming home.  I don't like it.  I'd rather wait out two weeks without teaching, or using on-line teaching.  We will see what happens.

Other than all that, I've just finished watching Once Upon a Time.  I'd started watching before and stopped for reasons I don't remember.  I enjoyed binge watching it, except there wasn't enough romance, as one of the characters said at the very end of the show :D I showed hubby a bit of the first ep but he dismissed it on grounds the women weren't his type (on seeing Snow White and Emma), and I agree the guys were much cuter than the women in that show.   My favorite women were Zelena and Regina.  Zelena is quite beautiful <3 My favorite guy was Hook and I was so glad they kept bringing him back in various forms until the very end.  I was soooooo disappointed when Regina lost Robin, I almost stopped watching.

I still haven't watched the last ep of SPN.  I'll be getting to that next.

Some pictures I also posted on FB:

The songs. As you can see, the parents are farther apart than usual. Everyone had to wear a mask as well.
