TV and other stuff
I have been so uninformative for so long guys, and I realize that's not good because I can't remember what I did unless I write it down.
The thing is, I used to be able to use the LJ app on my smartphone and on the computer interchangeably but now drafts from my smartphone don't come up on the computer, and I really hate the new system so I am still on the old editing screen, which also doesn't seem to save a draft anymore on the free account here. It sucks. It was a good thing I had this draft on my supernutjapan account so I could go and copy/paste it again after it got deleted. Also, Audrey is using my smartphone more and more for TikTok and I can't get it back LOL I'm going to try to get some photos for this post, though so it doesn't end up being only about TV as usual.
I've obviously been on numerous walks and taken some photos, we celebrated MIL's 88th which is a very big deal over here with a homemade cake which turned out excellently, and will be going out for a nice lunch in the near future.
Audrey is entering JH this spring, Julian is entering a specialized college for game creation and we are going to be rather busy with getting ready for that. Some good news about work - we have lost some more students but also gained some in December and January so our income is not as dire as it was. Hopefully we continue to get more students to make up for the losses.
I think I have some sort of eye injury so that it hurts to wear my contacts for long. Today I wore my glasses, but I really don't like to wear them for long periods because my eyes get tired quickly and I feel sleepy and not myself. I hope it's better tomorrow so I can brave my contacts.
On another note, I finally had to find and watch the three Fifty Shades movies which I had been curious about but never had the opportunity to watch. I found Darker on Netflix first and watched that, found the first one on Youtube and bought rights to that so I could rewatch as many times as I liked :P then I found Freed on Amazon Prime. What's with all the mediums? Some joint effort to get people to buy both NETFLIX and AMAZON PRIME?!
There were some aspects that were questionable, but in general, it was a nice porny trilogy with a Beauty and the Beast feel to it - in the sense that the woman is able to bring out the humanity/ability to love in the damaged man. I was glad that I could watch them all at once. Anyone who watched that first one at the movie theater must have been sorely disappointed in the ending. I would have been. I am curious to know if the actual Fifty Shades books have more content than the movies if anyone's actually read them?
[Spoiler (click to open)]I can understand, Anastasia being a virgin and all innocent, why she may have made some dumb decisions - like asking Christian to give out his worst punishment (really? ) and then getting upset about 5 lashes with a belt. And well, Christian was rather stupid to give in to that too, knowing how ignorant she was. So, the movie ending on that note, with her breaking up with him, was really dumb. I personally have a rather low threshhold for pain (although not as low as hers, sheesh) so I like the idea more than the actual thing, but I think it is something that one needs to get used to gradually in order for it to bring any pleasure. She obviously hasn't considered that, and Christian acts too hastily, maybe because he also is ignorant about women as innocent as she is and how to go about starting a relationship like that.
The second and third movies were much better in that their relationship developed at a natural pace with them both learning to communicate better what they wanted and opening up about their fears and the past, and Anastasia's sexuality and trust also developing so that she actually kind of liked being doled out a bit of pain in the end, within their loving and healthy relationship, of course.
After that I went back to reread some fanfic in the form of a Dean/Cas AU and I also have worked a bit on my WIP, thanks to my mind being in that particular space.
Then I went back to watch Sabrina before Season 3 was released. I am now really enjoying the Third Season immensely<3 Each ep is so satisfying!
The week has gone by like a whirlwind. I spent like two hours on the phone just to get our phone line moved. I seriously cannot believe how long they kept me on the phone.
People here are getting rather worried about the virus from China, since it seems our immigration is not as careful as the USA. Japan is pretty good at containing such new viruses so I am not too worried yet.
Tuesday, I have to go downtown with hubby for a contention at the labor office - one of the teachers has filed a complaint. It's not a lawsuit or anything, it is sort of like a mediation but with no legal hold. A chance for both sides to explain our stance. It will be a whole day ordeal so very tiring, but something out of the ordinary.
A couple of pictures of granny's birthday and ume plum blossoms in bloom. It's that time! Soon the peach blossoms will come, then the cherry blossoms... and spring! Our weather forecast says snow this next week.
