Audrey's Daycare Art Exhibit

Feb 23, 2014 15:51

Yesterday was Audrey's daycare artwork exhibit, and although I was unable to go because of my busy Saturday work schedule, hubby took Julian, Audrey and Grandma to the daycare center for a morning of looking at artwork.

The hall was decorated like a tour around Japan.

The kids had stamp cards for each section they went to.

There was a big construction of Mt. Fuji in the middle of the hall, with pictures of the students and their handprints stuck to it.

Audrey's creations were this Ohinasama (Prince and Princess dolls for Childrens/Girls Day on March 3) -

(The ones on the right... on the left are by her boy friend for whom she made chocolates on Valentines Day.)

A Print of her own face -

And some beautiful origami lilies -

Audrey and her friend took pictures with their teacher in front of the lilies and prints.

After looking around, they went outside for some soup made by the center. The daycare kids got corn soup (free) while the parents had to pay for a different kind of Japanese soup called Senbei Jiru. It seems Julian wanted some corn soup and was quite disappointed that he was not allowed any (he is alumni and still feels part of the daycare :D). We've found this particular daycare very rigid and uncaring of older siblings going to visit in many respects. He was brave enough to ask the teachers if he could have some but was refused. I was proud that he at least tried.

Anyway, Audrey had fun eating her soup with her good friend and rival for her boy friend. As they were eating, Shori, the boy they both like, came up and spent some time with them. Here is a silly picture they took together -

And here is Shori teasing Audrey -

Cute aye?!

After that, they went down to a restaurant to have lunch and wait for me. I was able to join them 30 minutes later. Here is Audrey with her dessert which she generously shared with me.

It was a tiring day for hubby as he couldn't leave the car at the daycare but he had to take everyone by car, leave it somewhere else and then come back.... then go get it again to pick everyone up. It was a good day out though and Grandma was also glad to be able to get out of the house after being stuck in the house for so long with all that snow!

Alex, on the other hand, has exams next week and was stuck at home studying. Hopefully he will be able to show us some good grades this time around!
