aha. i just posted this on her lj but i'll post it here now because yeah i'm not being lazy anymore. commenting on the dean/sam thing, i've been thinking for a while that there's something going on with dean. now to be honest, the demon has gone for the first born that we know of, sometimes they're only children (i.e. rosie and max) but sometimes not (like andy and his twin, but perhaps the demon just got lucky on that one and got a two for. lmfao at me saying two for) but i've been thinking about it and let's put it this way. if dean was good, wouldn't that be more of a reason for the demon to get him out of the way rather then to keep him in the way? yes? kripke's always said that the show is about sam and this...journey through life he'll take but dean has always been a prominent...character i guess. he's always there and there's always been a stressed point of him being there to save sammy all the time. i wonder why? um...it can't just be because he's good and sam's destined for evil but he keeps saving him from that. there's bound to be something else. my point is this: if dean was really that big of a threat, if he really was on the 'good' side or whatever the demon would've been a little more determined to get rid of him (i.e. the car accident) i know making the deal with john ensured that he got john out of the way, i realize that but i look at it like this. he very easily could've gone back on his deal or come back at some later date and killed dean or hell he could've gotten rid of him long before that. but he gave in so easily to save dean, and no matter what dean's been through he seems to make it out okay. maybe him making the deal with john was just his way of torturing dean. making sure he found out. we all know what kind of hell dean's living in at the moment, knowing his father (the one person who meant so much to him aside from sammy) gave up his life for him. that would kill someone, torture them until they couldn't take it anymore. as we've kind of seen already. dean's in a dark place, and there are only two options really. he'll either continue to slide down this slope into this dark obise (did i spell that right? no? oh well) and end up being 'evil' or he'll make it through (with the help of sam and probably mainly for sam because he's his big bro and he knows sammy needs him now more then ever.) and continue to 'fight the good fight' so to speak. the point is. there's a reason the demon's kept dean around, because whether he claims he's not that big of an obstacle or threat he is and we all know it. look at what dean is willing to do for sam. look at everything he'll put himself through or deal with just to keep sam safe. family is the most important thing to dean. he needs sam now more then ever, especially since their father's gone so i think yeah there's a reason dean's still around and it probably definitely has to do with the demon. but on the other hand, maybe sam being seen in the light and dean in the shadows is just a way of confusing us. making our minds turn and form these scenarios and everything. i mean, if something really was up with dean/the demon don't you think john would've figured it out before his death? or perhaps he had and just didn't want to tell dean. we never know but then you'd think maybe he'd pull sammy aside and say something to him about it instead? like he did with dean. eh well probably not he didn't really have the time ya know. i don't know at this point i'm kind of rambling and not really forming coherent thoughts but yeah that's what i think. :| omg did that make sense at all?
aha. but i just realized, we're all looking so much into this. its been put out there basically that sam is destined for evil and dean is destined for good. but their mindset or whatever is vice versa. deans the one in the dark place right now and sam's more of a person who wants to apply morals and everything else. what if that's just it? you never know who you're dealing with, you never know who people truly are. so maybe sam just appears to be the one not in that dark place, and even though dean is in that dark place right now he really is only human and sometimes we all go to those dark places. dean cares about his job but more then that he cares about sam and he cared about john. losing john was a big deal to him so of course he'd slip into this dark hole that he's been in since john's death, especially since finding out or getting confirmation that it was because of him or whatever. but sam is so...undark? i guess you could say that it wouldn't really surprise me if it is the way they say it. dean is good and sam is evil. just because, imo, if someone appears to be so opposite from something they probably really are that thing or whatever. dean seems so dark at times and mainly because of the place that he's in, it wouldn't surprise me if that became some huge obstacle that he had to overcome (and eventually did) and really was fighting the good fight or whatever. i don't know. just rambling. aha. see my brains thinking too fast and my hand hurts so i can't type it all down and its not making sense. damnit kripke, making me think so much.
