we'll get to those later...

Anyways, Wednesday was Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent. Lent is an interesting time, leading up to Easter after 40-something days. On Wednesday we all received ashed on our foreheads as a mark of pennance. Very cool. Anyways, that night they showed the Passion here. This is only the second time I've watched this movie, the first being on Ash Wednesday last year. It is just such a moving movie. It is very graphic, but depicts the reality of what happened. Jesus was tempted by the devil all throughout his Passion. He was chained, whipped, beaten, etc. But he had to do it. He had to die so that we may live. He bore all of our sins so that we may be forgiven. He asked God to forgive the ones who killed him. How much more loving can one man be? He was man, he was God. Jesus' humility in becoming human and dying for us all really moves me. It makes me want to be more aware of the cross I bear everyday, and makes me want to be more willing to bear it. It makes me want to tell you guys just how great God is. Cuz he really is great. He removes the dispair, the loneliness, the sadness from my life, and fills it with passion and love. All you have to do is let him into your life and be willing to embrace him, and he will return your embrace.

Following the movie, I went to adoration and jsut prayed in front of the blessed sacrament, in front of Jesus, and it was very helpful. I drew in my notebook and wrote a poem while I was there. God is great, and it was wonderful. This is going to be an interesting Lent.

So, this is the first weekend that I am staying back. Many people traveled, but not everyone. Many people went to Prague, and I think I'll go there next weekend. But this weekend I needed to rest and catch up and prepare for the weekends to come.

Last night, Tru, Mel, Theresa, Billy, Matt, Mary Claire and I went to Urs, the local bar and pizzashop. Interested in trying something new, I got a White Russian. Definitely an interesting drink, not bad, very tingly, but not something I'll probably get again. I might just stick to Peach wine from Urs. While at the Spar (grocery shop), I got a Bacardi Breezer to be enjoyed sometime this weekend. I find it funny how easy it is to buy alcohol here since it's legal. Especially since I won't be able to do this for a year after I get back. I don't think I'll miss it, but it's fun.

Oh well. I talked to my parents on the phone this week, and Adam I. called me too. Been fun. I'll update more another time. Peace.
