X-Force v3 #9:
• Pretty Choi art! However, I keep doing a double-take at the cover. At first glance, it appears to me as though Wolverine is feeling up X-23. Like the nod to the first version of X-Force, wish the Cannonball pic was clear. I'd love to Choi draw Sam.
• Not loving the story, but not hating it either. I'd point out the personality changes in the characters, but the more pressing problem is that they don't have much in the way of personality. "Let's go kill stuff," that's about the extent of it.
• Don't understand why Elixir has white hair now.
• Random Demon Bear and Ghost Rider appearances, whut?
Runaways v3 #4:
• Surprisingly, Ramos's art is growing on me, big feet and all. Victor Mancha is looking especially sexy in this incarnation.
• Story ain't bad either. Especially enjoyed Karolina's "I could have been naked!" scene and Molly/Klara ganging up on Vic and arguing over hero names.
Secret Invasion: X-Men #4:
• Liked the art in this series as well. 'Tis pretty.
• Pretty smart, Cyclops! But if you were willing to use the modified Legacy virus on Skrulls, why are you now so worried about it being stolen over in X-Force?
• Just like that, Secret Invasion is over. Huh. Kinda anti-climactic.
Tiny Titans #10:
• Still adorable artwork.
• The Barbara/Supergirl story was fun, but I prefer the usual multiple short stories format. I missed seeing the rest of the Titans this month.
Birds of Prey #124:
• I don't normally read this one. What I know of the series is only what I've gleaned from
scans_daily. I picked it up because the cover intrigued me.
• Story: Meh, not good enough to make me a regular reader. I did enjoy Barbara beating up the Joker though, and her thoughts as she broke his teeth. "I've taken something from you, something you cherished, something you'll never get back. You'll never be the same." Good stuff.
New Warriors #18:
• I want to like this comic. It has Jono and Jubes, and I love them! But the comic sucks. It's horrible. Everyone is acting out of character. I don't give a damn about Night Thrasher. I'm sick of stories revolving around Tony Stark. Just NO.
• Seriously. NO.
• PLEASE, Marvel. If you aren't going to cancel this shit and put the characters into something good, at least find a writer who can make the team work.
• Every time Jono or Jubes acts like respecting others authority is fun, I die a little inside.
Wolverine: First Class #9:
• A Wolverine: First Class comic that actually features Wolverine instead of Kitty Pryde. Holy crap!
• The slight problem being that I actually like Kitty Pryde: First Class. This was good, though. Less humorous, but still a good, light comic.
• I'd still prefer an ongoing X-Men: First Class series over this, though.
Ultimate Spider-Man #123:
• "It's either this or I jump off a bridge." Hahahaha!
• Fuck yeah Aunt May pulling a gun! Going all badass to protect her family. She and Lucinda Guthrie should chat.
• And there was some Carnage versus Venom stuff that I don't really care about, and now Gwen's alive again. *Shrug*
• There's a reason I only pick this one up sporadically.
Incredible Hercules #123:
• A comic I've only started reading recently, for the "Amadeus hooks up with sexy Amazons" story.
• Is Cho out of character for apparently not giving a shit that his sorta-girlfriend is dead? I have no idea.
• May have to keep reading this one. I'm interested in what the writers are doing with Greek myths.
Jack of Fables #28:
• Continues to be fun, but isn't really doing anything new or particularly interesting.
• I think Fables awesomeness has spoiled me for Jack of Fables. It just can't compare. Granted, they aren't meant to be compared; it's like apples and oranges. Still, getting a bit bored of the usual "Jack gets into a wacky situation and lucks his way out of it."
