Rewatching Sailor Moon because I'm on a major childhood-tv-shows kick. I'm going to say that unlike Avatar or Xena, Sailor Moon doesn't quite hold up. I think the show itself still holds a lot of great examples and messages for young girls but there are way too many filler episodes with the same exact plot line and formula. Ok so I finished my crazy Avatar marathon and have re-watched the series. The journal title is exactly how I feel. The ending especially, that four part finale, is breathtaking. Not only is it beautifully animated (Zuko vs. Azula fire? Gorgeous) but it's a very perfect way to resolve the conflicts Aang had been dealing with and the other characters ( Read more... )

I love how in Avatar, they can make fun of someone for being blind without making it seem mean spirited at all. And they can do that because being blind isn't at all some kind of handicap for Toph. Her blindness makes her a better earth bender and she, in fact, is the greatest earth bender there ever was. So yeah she can't tell what side of a paper ( Read more... )

I'm rewatching the Nick cartoon Avatar: The Last Airbender not to be confused with that movie by James Cameron. I've been hankering to for a while and it'll help quell my appetite for more Avatar things until the Legend of Korra comes out (the semi sequel of sorts to this show).
