Well - I'm still pregnant. :) 2 cm dilated though, so making progress, even though I've yet to feel a whiff of a contraction. (Thanks to all of you for sharing your experiences in response to my last question on this matter!!!!)
I've been counting the 21st as my due date based on my own calculations and the results of my first u/s, but apparently my doctor considers my due date to be yesterday, Feb 17th, and now I am "late."
My blood pressure is up - today was 132/84 at the doctor's which isn't so bad, but Andy and I have been taking it with a home monitor and last night it was hovering at 150-160 over 85-90 which isn't good. And they took it again as I was leaving my appt and it was 150/100. I have no protein in my urine or any other indications of a problem, so they are running pre-eclampsia labs and making me do a ridiculous 24 hour urine test during which I have to collect every drop of pee for an entire day in a neon orange jug in my refrigerator. Pretty gross. If either of those tests come back abnormal, they will induce me. Otherwise I'm sticking to my request to wait until she comes on her own or it is truly medically necessary. Crossing all fingers and toes that she chooses to make her entrance naturally very very soon.
I also managed to gain 10 lbs in 6 days, which puts my grand pregnancy total at 65 lbs. Embarrassing. I seriously can't believe it. I am sitting here comfortably in pre-pregnancy size small sweatpants, and I'm not denying that I am much larger than I was before I got pregnant, but I truly don't see where this 65 lbs is residing. I'm done feeling depressed about it though...I'm down to a matter of days, maybe a week and what can I do at this point?
Swelling continues to be an issue and one that obviously plays into my weight gain. I didn't realize it, but my calves have now swollen up too. My doctor pointed it out to me...I had my calf leaning against one of the stirrups on the exam table and when I moved it, the two inch impression in my leg made it not even look like a human leg.
Let's see...what else... Oh, the antibiotics I am taking which cleared up the cold from hell (YAY) have given me a yeast infection (BOOOOOO). As if I need anything else going on down there! I've been eating 4-5 Activa yogarts a day though because my doctor was wishy-washy about me using the suppositories being 2 cm dilated and I definitely can't take the oral treatment, and the yogart really is making a difference though it still isn't quite comfortable.
This is all sounding pretty negative, but I am in good spirits. I feel as good as I would expect a 9 month 65-lb heavier pregnant woman to be. I REALLY appreciate all of the well-wishes and check-ins from you ladies. Keep thinking of us - I really hope to be able to make a more exciting post soon!!!! :)
