The Rad Legacy: Seventeen!

Aug 02, 2015 22:27

What would have just been a cold has been accelerated by work into a full-blown "I never want to move again" kinda illness, so while I'm lazing around, you can have another update from the Rads!

Last time, Kassidy became the first sim in my game to have her baby at a hospital, a very unique if somewhat terrifying experience. Also, the boys grew a little, and a young lady was welcomed into the family. If you're not quite up to speed, there's the Rad tag for you, my friend.

When we last visited the Rads, Izzie - the youngest of generation five - had been interfering with oldest brother's attempts at befriending Olivia Spencer-Kim-Lewis. Man that is a mouthful of a last name.

Anyway, somehow, this managed to upset Olivia, and talking to her was pretty much useless.

Not that Izzie noticed she'd ruined her brother's chances of securing a girlfriend.

If anything, she seemed quite pleased with herself.

So Mikel gave up hopes of ever having friends outside of his family, and attempted to fix the sink.

Never too early to start them on their skills, afterall!

Izzie was still playing the "I'm completely innocent" card, too.

She's a cutie, right? A mischievious little cutie.

And despite apparently having a better relationship with Mikel, Izzie spends most of her time with Jasper. Who likes to put her in her place from time to time.

"I grow up soon, and I'm going to be THIS MUCH taller than you!"

"Nu uh, I'm going to be the biggest and the bestest!"

Izzie then proceeded to eat her breakfast.

"Where did you get that yoghurt from?"

"My pocket. Want some?"

"Gross."

"Watch out, Captain Hero, here comes a giant hand!"

Yes, I do just follow Izzie around the house, what gave it away?

Jasper, meanwhile, fed up of being ignored headed over to his brooding artist corner to vent his frustrations. Naturally, Izzie wouldn't leave him alone.

"Come on Jasper, I have more pocket yoghurt!"

"Can't. Drawing."

With her brothers otherwise occupied, Izzie had to amuse herself. For some reason, that meant doing the dishes.

Nevermind her lazy trait or anything.

We (briefly) interrupt this Izzie spam to bring you: Gloomy Mikel! He's so unimpressed with everything!

His gloomy trait does amuse me sometimes.

Jasper, however, is working hard on his aspiration. I'm determined to have him be the first child to complete one!

Even if his violin playing sounds terrible!

And we're back with spam of Izzie pestering her brothers constantly. What else is a kid sister supposed to do?

"Oh, Iz, I came in here to have breakfast in peace!"

"Hey kids, let's all hang out in here while Jasper is asleep!"

"Great idea, Mum!"

With Prince's death looming (I keep getting pop-ups about it), I felt it was time he gave his youngest some attention.

Afterall, she's the one he knows the least out of the kids.

Well, it turned out "Prince's days are numbered" meant hours, because Prince died straight after returning from work that night.

In the street, because where else would a legacy sim kick the bucket.

Unlike many of the previous deaths in this legacy, Prince's passing was acknowledged. Not by his soul mate, or middle child, but you can't have it all.

"Mikel? What's going on?"

HELLO, HOW ARE YOU THIS EVENING?

...

THAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN AN INAPPROPRIATE QUESTION.

OOH, I WON THAT AUCTION ON EBAY! GUESS WHO'S GETTING A "LIKE NEW" SCYTHE?!

...

...FINE. I'LL DO MY JOB.

I do tend to poke fun at the reaper quite a bit, but he does have his dramatic moments. Like this one for example.

Quite badass, no?

"Hi, Mr Death?"

PLEASE, JUST CALL ME DEATH. MR DEATH WAS MY FATHER.

"Speaking of fathers, Mr Death, why did you take mine?"

IT'S MY JOB, SMALL CHILD. I DON'T WISH YOU ANY HARM.

"Did you wanna be a reaper when you were my age?"

WELL...NO.

YOU SEE ALL THESE STARS, SMALL CHILD? I WAS GOING TO EXPLORE THEM ALL. THAT'S WHAT I WANTED, TO BE AN ASTRONAUT.

"You still could be an astronaut."

NO, I THINK IT'S A LITTLE TOO LATE NOW. BUT REMEMBER, SMALL CHILD, IF YOU WANT SOMETHING, TAKE IT.

"Okay, Mr Death. I feel a little better."

Anyway, it turned out after all of that business with the reaper, that I cannot move Prince's urn, as he technically died off the lot.

Way to go, Prince. He'll have to remain in the street.

And now comes the part I don't like playing through - the never-ending sadness that follows a death.

Well. I say never-ending. I mean two days. But still, it felt never-ending.

Jasper, however, was not feeling the sadness. In fact, he was feeling fufilled and awesome.

That's right, I completed my first ever childhood aspiration. You have no idea how excited I was!

Just in time, too - we're getting another teenager!

And an attractive one at that! I am very pleased with how Jasper is turning out.

He got the Soulmate aspiration, and gained the Evil trait. Which seemed slightly odd, but who am I to judge?

I also bought the Rad family a proper photography studio thing so that they can have some nicer portraits on the wall.

The aim is to take one of all three siblings when Izzie turns into a teen.

For Mikel and Izzie, however, the misery continues.

"Dad's dead, and I stink."

"You always stank, Mikel."

"Gee, thanks, sis."

"Oh man, Dad's dead!"

It was about time he noticed, really. Only a day a bit too late, right?

Jasper pulls some quite interesting faces.

I really like Jasper, in case you couldn't tell. But I quite like all the kids this generation, and I don't envy you guys having to choose me an heir!

With Prince gone and the threat of more bills, Kassidy's payslip is not going to be enough, so Mikel got a job to help support the family.

Just don't expect him to get you a happy meal, okay?

Oh man, I'd forgotten I'd put this one up and made myself sad.

I really do have to try match my couples better age-wise.

"I'm filthy and I love it!"

I think Kassidy might be losing it a little. It's hard to tell with this family sometimes!

"Well, literally no one in this family is fun to talk to right now."

"Jasper, our Dad just died, what did you expect?"

"Life to go on in all its tragic glory!"

"Ugh, artists."

Jasper decided to express his feelings of frustration and sadness using the violin.

And despite all of that practise as a child, he still sounds terrible.

"I'm tired and sad and get no attention now that I'm not popping out babies."

I feel bad for ignoring Kassidy so much, but literally all she does is work and sleep at the minute. Which is a shame, she's been one of my favourite sims so far in the legacy.

Aw man, everyone's still so sad over Prince's passing.

Mikel's even taken to sleeping where his Dad used to.

"Eek! A ghost! I suddenly have to pee!"

"Oh, Dad, I have missed you!"

I imagine it being quite difficult to hug a ghost, what about you?

"Check out this masterpiece. And Jasper says art is hard! Pfft!"

Well, Mikel seems to have cheered up a little. As much a gloomy sim can, anyway.

Another day and I've got Jasper in the kitchen. Not that he's that interested in cooking at all, as you can see.

What is even pouring into the mixture? He's supposed to be making cake!

Cake for his little sister's birthday while Kassidy forgets about breakfast and sings her heart out.

That cake doesn't look very edible, does it? Izzie's certainly not impressed.

And here she is! I can see some of Kassidy in her, I think!

She rolled the Angling Ace aspiration, like her grandmother Karli, and gained the Goofball trait, which her mother has. Izzie definitely wants to be like her family!

With Izzie's birthday now out of the way, it's time for the all important heir poll!

Who will you choose? Mikel, Jasper or Izzie? :D

Until next time!
