From London With Love: An ISBI - Gen 1, Part 1

Sep 30, 2014 21:27

So I decided to try something. TS4 is currently the game I'm playing the most in my free time, and so I thought I'd use this to maybe entertain some other simmers in the community. Hopefully. Plus it means I get to just PLAY and explore a brand new game. Which is awesome, by the way - so many things left to discover!

Naturally, I picked an ISBI to play and share. It's the only challenge I've played (or attempted to play) across more than one sims game (does anyone else remember my TS3 ISBI attempt where I managed to kill a sim kid?) so it seemed like a nice place to start.

Anywho, enough babble, more madness!

Ladies and gentlemen, meet Milah London, the product of me messing about with the TS4 demo back before I moved to university. Which, conviniently, is in London. Maybe that's where Milah got her name from, I don't know.

Anyway, Milah is a party animal, which I must have thought was a really good idea at the time. Not exactly founder material, but we'll make it work. She's also ambitious, cheerful, and a bro. So this shall be quite a learning experience! My first bro!

Now, I don't mean to brag, but I'm pretty sure I'm getting really good at building cute little box houses. I always did like building "doll's houses" out of shoeboxes as a kid.

Naturally, I plan to expand on this as necessary. Right now I'm preserving cash.

Next on the list of things to do in a new 'hood is to go outside and meet people, which Milah should have no trouble with.

Plus it's always gorgeous outside, who wouldn't want to spend all of their time on this riverbank?

Milah tries to find out if any of the guys are husband-material, but she bumps into Mortimer Goth, who we all know is married. In fact, he seems to think the idea of befriending Milah is quite laughable.

"Hehehe, challenge-sims thinking they can be friends with playables! The idea!"

Luckily some other guys wandered past.

First, there was this guy, Tyson Harrison. Whose marital status I can't remember.

Also, I think this guy's name is kind of unfortunate. If my last name ended in 'son', I would give my kid a first name that also ended in 'son'. Maybe that's odd of me, I don't know.

There was also this sad guy, whose surname was Pancakes. At least, I *think* it was Pancakes. But that could just be me reading what I want to read.

Like in the bathroom in my flat, the toilet roll holder says 'dispensing solutions' but I read it as 'depressing solutions'. And yes, this fun fact was totally necessary.

After meeting people along the riverbank for awhile, Milah returned home to find Tyson there. I guess when I clicked on the "Hang Out" option it meant he could go in her house? I guess?

Either way, Milah was very happy that Tyson had just wandered in.

"Wow, he's hot!"

Cool it, Milah. This guy may or may not have a wife, I'm not sure.

That said, I'm pretty sure Tyson's aware that Milah is checking him out. How smug is he?!

Thoughts of Tyson distracted Milah for the rest of the day, even during serious tasks like cooking.

Oh, who am I kidding? Milah is a terrible cook.

"I'll have you know I am a FANTASTIC chef!"

I'm not even sure what that blob on Milah's plate is supposed to be.

Milah then ate her delicious blob while sitting on her bed. She has a sofa, but apparently this is preferrable.

The same bed was later filled with a crying dude. This new emotions thing means you can invite people over to party, but you can't guarantee they'll be in the mood for it.

Milah and the only other guest - Tyson - left him to it.

Not that Milah and Tyson were paying much attention to the dude crying in Milah's bed. They were too busy taking their relationship to the next level, despite the fact Tyson might be married but I'm not actually sure.

See, I used the 'ask if single' action, but Milah asked several guys if they were single, how am I supposed to remember all their responses?

Crying dude came out from under the covers at the most awkward time, bless him.

Pretty sure Sad Cowboy ended up spending the rest of the party sipping juice and dancing alone. Poor guy.

For a day or two after the party, Tyson was over all the time, which really interfered with Milah's schedule of sorting out her needs and goals for a promotion at work.

I'd say she didn't mind too much, but I actually considered mood cheats until I remembered I didn't know any. Which is probably for the best actually, otherwise I would have lost the damn challenge in the first chapter.

Anyway, a break from Tyson for a day or two helped me get Milah's mood back on track.

"Yeah, I'm not busy, sure I can talk!"

Multi-tasking is awesome! A little odd, but awesome! I do hope none of my real life friends phone me while on the toilet, though.

On Friday, the last day before Milah got some time off, she got a promotion and her moods and emotions under control, and so was rewarded with quality time with Tyson.

Who she asked to move in. Deep breath - will he have a wife to move in with him?

Jackpot! Tyson was living with another dude and they didn't even share surnames, so everything is awesome, and he can now settle into domestic bliss with Milah.

Of course domestic bliss includes baby-making! This ISBI is going nowhere without BABIES!

"Woohoo and grilled cheese. Awesome."

I do have a feeling an ISBI won't be too hard with TS4. Tyson seems to be able to take care of himself. However, I did read a legacy where the heir died of embarrassment, so there's always the potential for chaos and mishaps.

The next morning, and Milah discovers something...

"I feel sick!"

*confetti explosion* PREGNANT! Yay!

"Guess who's pregnant!"

"Sad Cowboy?"

"No! ME!"

"Oh dear plumbbob, WHY?!"

"Isn't it GREAT?"

To be fair, he did get a positive moodlet-thingy (what are they called in TS4 again?) and is actually looking forward to the baby.

But apparently not enough to help Milah out with the cooking.

"Ugh, this doesn't even LOOK like eggs and toast!"

This seems like a good stopping point.

Join me next time for BABIES and undoubtedly more madness. Maybe. I'm not promising anything! :D
