**hugs you** Every lab has at least one old battle axe and believe me, usually even the people who work with her can't stand her! LOL Yes I had some people like you that made my day happy and it always made me feel good that I was doing something productive and helpful to humanity! But yes, the job is really that thankless. Thanks for your post love! You are too sweet! I'm glad I left too, it was either that or my health.

Ick... that's not a nice job. *sighs* But from what I understand, most nursing work is the same as that. They do all this hard work, only to get yelled at and abused by the people they're just trying to help. I don't see how people can claim to be sick, injured or whatnot... and still have the energy to give Nurses, Doctors and Phlebotomists *loves that word* shit!

I don't love getting my blood taken, but I'm still not about to bitch about it to anyone other then my family due to the fact, that the Nurse taking my blood, really doesn't need to know that I'm not liking it!! 'sides, it's over and done with in under a minuet anyway. *beams*

Yes, they are mean to the nurses and doctors too! I have a friend that does nursing home with alzhimers (sp?) patients. She loves them but they can't help it. On the other hand she says it's harder to work with patients who can help themselves and have a good attitude but won't.

Maybe if enough ppl leave that area of work they will start to cater to that profession with incentives or they get sued for allowing ppl with minimal training.Thats usually the only way they take notice and fix whats wrong.Yeah you definitely should be nice to the person drawing blood from you;).

LOl well it would be nice if people were nice but they can be really mean, especially the people who are a little older. You're absolutely right! If people who worked hard for their certification fought back more our work places might improve. You don't want to even know some of the things I've seen from people without good training, you'd never want your blood drawn again!

Let's just say the day I quit I saw a phlebotomist open an unidentified tube and pour the blood into someone elses tube because they didn't do an adequate draw. I reported them because they could kill someone doing shit like that! And then I quit because I thought that was just fucked up!

You know by law they cannot stick you more than twice. If a phlebotomist stuck you more then twice they broke the damn law!
