The fact that the people at Bennigan's were not willing to give you the time you need is bad employee relations. If they were serious about hiring you they'd accommodate you to prove that they will run a congenial and comfortable work environment. I'd say wait for H&M to call, and while you wait, apply to a few other places so you have other options to consider if H&M doesn't work out.

I applied to 12 two weeks ago... these two are the only that called me back :\

But thanks, I think that's what I'll end up doing... I called today and the H&M lady said she couldn't give me an answer until the background check cleared... sooo I'm still where I was yesterday. Ehhh.

I'll be honest, despite that you make quite a lot of money waiting tables, it's such an EXHAUSTING job and the benefits aren't good . . . that's why I decided to stick with Starbucks. It means I make less in the short term, but I still make good money, I have GREAT benefits, and I'm HAPPY at work. I think waiting to hear from H&M is probably best. If your background is clear, and they said the only thing they were waiting on is the background check, that sounds like you get the job?

BTWPS if you do work there, I may never be able to come visit you. Because I cannot walk into that store without spending a gazillion dollars.
