...and it's all downhill from here.

So here it is, I'm bringing it back. This is for all you (one) fans out there. Tuesday I started a new job. This is that story. I now do pick-ups and deliveries for a furniture rental store. And they pay me for it. I have heard many stories about this job from a couple friends who did/do it. But you won't hear any of those, you will only hear mine.

Tuesday I didn't actually do any work, so it didn't count. Today was the first day I did work. My very first pick-up! Now our usual customer base isn't very... well they aren't a lot of things. Wealthy, intelligent, polite, clean, to name a few. But here we are, driving into one of the nicer parts of the city. My coworker, let's call him Jimmy (not his real name) tells me that it's a doctor who just moved here from the USA and his furniture was taking a while to show up so they rented some. Show up, they are polite, the house is very nice and clean, and there are no problems. Wow, this job isn't so bad. Turns out that will be the nicest place I ever step foot in while doing this job, it's all downhill from here.

The next house wasn't bad either, delivering a couple bedroom sets to a farmhouse. Jimmy first broke off a 9 foot long branch from their tree while backing up the truck, then we went to work. I discovered how much I love holding up a dresser with my face while carrying it up some stairs. This house was also clean and the people were polite. This job didn't seem all that horrible, until Jimmy tells me on the drive back that it's weird that my first two runs were really odd... and they were odd because they were what most people would consider NORMAL.

The rest of the day I spent at the store, moving heavy stuff around, and not much happened. Until the very end when I found out that a girl from a nearby town had an interview with our company, but when she didn't show up the boss called her and talked to her mom. After a bit the mom called back and said she couldn't find the girl either, and the last she saw her was when she left for London for the interview. I guess she might be dead. All in all not too bad of a day... except for her.
