an interesting past couple days
so yes, yesterday was a fun day, that was my biggest motivation for updating. i guess i should say tho that nothing got accomplished on monday. except that right as i got back from my shower and turned on my phone (at 1 pm) my mom called me and chewed me out for being so lazy. then later i walked across campus in the frigid cold and bought what i hope are the final books i need to purchase for this semester. they better be anyway. and then at like 8 me & my roommate walked the longest 5 minutes ever to k lair, and we felt like we were gonna die from frostbite. seriously, it was so cold. o yea, and then later i watched i love the 90s part deux: 1990 and 1991. great way to end the day.
alright, so yesterday was a pretty good day. i got up early, b/c i am an idiot and signed up for an 8 am class this semester. but its alright, its general economics, and i got the easy teacher. it was pretty cool tho, b/c i didn't know anyone in my class but then cayse switched into it. so now i know someone in there, which is cool. after a break i had my chem lab, and all we did was make sure we had all our equipment and watch a safety video, which was actually pretty hilarious. u see, when they pointed out what not to do, they would actually show it happening. so like, "use a stopper to put a hole in something, otherwise u might cut urself" and then it showed him do it w/o it and cut his hand! i was just like, "wow, this is a hardcore video". and class got over early, so that is always a bonus. after eating some greek food (yuuuuummmmm), i came back to my room and chilled and did a lil hw for a change. when 7 o'clock rolled around i decided it was about time to head up to north campus. there was a lottery for basketball tickets at memorial coliseum (on north campus), so i figured i'd hang out up there for a little and go to the lottery. i met up with mike at blazer and we got our food. well, he got his food anyway. i wanted pizza and i seriously had to wait about 15 minutes for them to bring out a new pizza. but atleast i was 1st to get the new pizza. and it was soooo good, fresh from the oven. me & mike saw some others there and ate with them. these ppl included: evan, rob, paulo, matt sparks, and johannah. i enjoyed a lovely dinner with them and we hung out in blazer for a while afterwards talking. also, johannah had told me that she wanted to go to the basketball lottery also, and so we were trying to waste time until it was time to head over (it started at 9). after wasting more time, we finally found out that liz, phil and payne had already headed over there, and so we scurried over and joined them in line. bua-haha, thats right, we line-jumped when we found them, and it was glorious.
i guess i should take a timeout to explain the whole lottery system for those who don't know it. what happens is that when u walk into memorial coliseum they are handing out numbers in many different places. u get 1 and this is ur number. then, after everyone has come in and gotten a number, they randomly pick groups of 50 numbers at a time. for instance, they will call numbers 301-350. then anyone with a number in that range can come down onto the court and they can then buy tickets for as many games are offered in that group. yesterday, they were sellling tickets for games against lsu, florida and georgia. so u could buy a ticket for only 1 game or all 3 games.
so after getting our numbers, we took some seats in the crowd, but we lost liz, phil, payne, and all phil's friends that we had stood in line with. but then we found kelly and a bunch of her friends and sat with them while we waited. it was gooooood times. and it was awesome, b/c our group was called pretty early on, so we got tickets for the eruption zone! (the student section, per se). altho i can't go to the game saturday, but atleast i got tickets for the florida and georgia games! o yea, and the florida game is on espn, tuesday nite feb. 8th! hell yea, keep ur eyes open, luckily i stand out. seriously, i think i had 5 or 10 ppl tell me today that they saw me on the court getting my tickets last nite. but yea, that florida game will be awesome, i can't wait!
after getting our tickets, i ran into my friend ashley c who was in my honors class last semester, and we were tight. it was fun tho, b/c she had just told me a couple days b4 that we needed to reunite and then we had a random bump-in. she is such a hilarious person, its too bad we are not in the same class this semester. no matter, life will go on. after that encounter me & johannah headed back to north campus and we hung out for a small bit. then we went up to see what mike was doing and hung out there for a little bit. then johannah left to do some hw and me & mike hung out. then we went over to blazer for some ice cream and ran into paulo and a couple other ppl. we sat there and chatted for a while, and then finally it was time to go back down south and get some sleep, which was fun.
today i went to classes and hung out in my room. nothing special about it. o yea, but i missed lost so my roommate could watch american idol. that kinda made me mad. i don't like american idol......at all. i don't see any redeaming qualities in it whatsoever. o well, i heard we taped it at home, and i am coming home this weekend to fill in for my brother at the basketball league and make some money. o yea, and tomorrow i only have 1 class, no lab. and friday there are only 2 classes and i'm done by 11! hooray, i'm out to do stuff.
