Today was the greatest . . .

I'm working on Book 2 in the mornings. I do like it, but I think I need something else to happen, and I can't quite figure out what yet. I think the answer may lie in the best friend's erratic younger sister. Like she does something that prompts the best friend to need emotional support, but the main character can't give it because she's channeling all her energy into herself.

This morning, I woke up, (Talib Kweli voice.) I wrote in Book 2, started line-editing, then went up to meet an old co-worker Liz at Indie, a restaurant in Lincoln Center. I ordered this great kale salad with [$3 worth of] avocado in it. Liz is doing awesomely. We went through a long period together we were both adrift professionally, and now that has been nailed down a little bit. It was great to see her happy and thriving. Then I came back and failed to complete my page quota. Eep. Basically I'm going to have to line-edit on Saturday now, which I guess I'm trying to embrace because the storm is coming.

I think I might have mentioned that I have a new popcorn maker, and I use it like three or four times a day. Also, I'm on Weight Watchers, and desperate to make goal weight so I can stop paying. I am three pounds away. Last week, I was .6 pounds away, so . . . (fill in feelings of disappointment and renewed determination here!)

Okay. Time to start those dishes.
