These boots
Woof, my dogs are barking. I am a big walker, averaging about 11K steps a day during the week, upwards of 15K on the weekends. Roughly. I think the app I use isn't super accurate, and it sure doesn't give me any credit for standing about six hours a day at work... and it gave two figs about all the backbreaking yardwork I did today.
Anyway, through all the walking and probably quite a few pair of unsupportive shoes over the years I have various issues. Morton's neuroma on my right foot and now I think I've got a plantar fibroma on my left. The right foot isn't too bad as long as I wear a silicone pad. The left I haven't figured out how to remedy. Stretching real good helps, but not as I'm walking. I'm guessing an insert designed for plantar fasciitis should help, we'll try it and see.
And to top it off, my big toe on my left foot - I think the bone spur grew back. I had it shaved off about (mumble mumble) years ago, but the nail seems to be being pushed up and it's pretty sore.
Le sigh. I need to go to podiatrist for that, regular doc to get tested for RA and I need my routine. Why can't doctors send out reminder cards like vet offices do? I think I was due for a mammo in FEBRUARY, and this is after the gyno made a big to-do about a thing, stressing how important it was to check in every six months, yadda, and swearing she put me on the docket. Well, I guess not. And I, of course, never remember to schedule things that are not pleasant.
Okay, that's enough word vomit. No, one last thing. My sister invited everyone to her lake house for Independence Day. Everyone excitedly agreed, started talking food to bring. Then sis says, "Of course, you know I only want fully vaccinated people over." And nearly everyone had to decline, because they have kids who have not been fully vaccinated and/or won't be. It's fine if that's her policy, but why, why, why would she not LEAD with that?? Family. ::eyeroll::
^I still maintain the county assessor knocked $6K off the value of my house in a market that is so hot it might as well be a fire because of the paint job, but I stand by it. In certain light, I love it. In other light, eh. I wonder what will happen to the house down the way that got a baby pink treatment - I kind of like that, too. It makes me smile every time I walk that way. Wish I'd thought of it. ;)
