I have been confirmed for press at PMX.  I also got a rough schedule in the email.  The concert schedule is very packed for Saturday and only a few shows on Sunday.  There are still some confirmed music guests that aren't on the schedule that they sent so it's going to get busier as more events are added.  It looks like the only time I will be able to work on my own personal website will be in the mornings.  J!-ENT is bringing a lot of staff for this con.  The only person on J!-ENT staff that I've worked with is Garland so it's going to be nice to meet some more of the staff.  Hopefully, I can convince somebody to go to Fanime with me next year.

I went to the Tall Ships Festival at the port after work today.  The photos that I took were junk so I might go try again sometime this weekend.  I didn't bother to check my ISO, which was set at a whopping 1600, so the skies are very grainy and plus, there was something on my sensor that I am too lazy to edit out.  I'm going to give all of my equipment a good cleaning tomorrow night.  I didn't realize it was so dirty.

I didn't get too much done at work this week.  I took apart a hi-def 42X lens with built-in stabilizer, which I've never done before.  It was a big pain in the butt, but I learned a lot in the process.  Repairing electrical problems on those things is going to be hell.  The rest of the time, I worked on an old 8.5X that I've basically rebuilt using a bunch of spare junk parts.  All of those part didn't necessarily want to fit together so I had to find a way to get them all to work.  Slowly, I'm getting it done and one of these days, I'll actually finish it.

Can anybody tell me why anime fans are so cheap?  It's okay to save money, but I just don't think some of them have their priorities straight.  A few years ago, I met some guy at AX who had no problem spending $200 on a model kit, but slept in his car for the whole convention.  They can spend hundreds of dollars on getting themselves to a convention, memberships, hotel, and anime goods, but then spend the whole weekend living off instant ramen because they think Carl's Jr. is expensive.

Nisei Week Anime Festival is this weekend.  Be there or be square.  If attendance isn't that great, I'll be convinced that LA-area fans are a bunch of finicky poopy-heads.
