Characters: Neuro Nougami, Pamela? Summary: Neuro goes snooping. Time: Ungodly hour of the morning Location: Pamela's office, first floor main building Warnings: Neuro + Curiosity!
Pamela was used to working awkward hours, not only at the school, but off it, too. This was perhaps quite a bit earlier than she'd otherwise be awake, but there was a night-blooming flower she'd found down south, and it should be flowering any night now. There was a few vines that needed pruning, and a miniature tree that needed repotting, and finding time for all that was never easy. So now was as good a time as any... Pausing at the door, Pamela's eyes narrowed. My, my. A guest. Gently sliding the door open, Pamela crossed her arms over her chest and stared at the first year.
"Any particular reason you are here now, and not during office hours, Mr. Nougami?"
Neuro had gotten preoccupied by something that smelled interesting around one of the plants, possibly in the cabinet? - Andthenheheardtheprofessorherselfbehindhim. "-rk!" Neuro's gaze swiveled around in mid-attempt at peeking around with a wide, startled blink. There probably was not a good reason for him to be there that would be believable. "I thought I heard something in here." He stood up straight, attempting some kind of a slightly pathetic recovery. "It apparently is gone now!" He opted for attempting the blank, brainless innocent smile, and hoped she hadn't noticed the broken lock.
Raising an eyebrow, Pamela walked further into her office, opening the cabinet and taking out a bag of earth she'd blended herself, and a few tools. Setting them down on her desk, she finally turned to face Neuro again.
"Really. It is lucky, Mr. Nougami, that it's only early in the term yet. Otherwise you would be tangled in my other locks. Perhaps that would have taught you to not indulge in curiosity in the middle of the night, though?" Leaning back against the desk, the door open on the other side, Pamela shook her head. Her smile was a shade too sharp, too narrow... or it was only the shadows in the room that made it so.
"But... I do not leave my office unprotected. Especially as there are several sensitive plants in here that students shouldn't get their curious and clumsy hands over. Had there really been anything in here meaning harm, Mr. Nougami, it would have been taken care of. So perhaps you would like to try another excuse?" Pamela leaned forward slightly, fingers tapping against a cheek and her other hand propping up

He may not have been that old for a demon, but he wouldn't have survived a day after his sire's demise if he hadn't been aware of what it looked like when someone was Predatory. His eyes flicked to watch the vine, and he tried to shift to get some view of if any other plants in the room were moving
