Had a good time this weekend in Portland for the birthday party! It was great to see so many people that I haven't seen in years!!
choralone23 looks absolutely fabulous!!! She's taking great care of herself and it shows :) Then, of course Erik,
beatings (who I never see enough of...but the hugs will have to do!),
shinkagakusha, Lisa,
chibiutka, and
planetdestroyer (who lasted a few hours before crashing from exhaustion!)...then of course
akki (Happy Birthday, birthday girl!!) and
katheudo :) Ben and I unfortunately had to drive home the same eve, but the little time we got to spend was pretty good!!
crunchpod and I gave Halloween her first dose of fluids yesterday and it went rather well. She didn't scream at all like she did at the vet's and best of all...Ben didn't pass out from the sight of the 18 gauge needle :) We let her into the "special room" aka the guest room and she got treats. Completely spoiled, but there has to be some incentive to endure 100cc of fluids into a 9 lb kitty!!
Things are settling down a bit for me school-wise..sort of, but maybe not really! I guess I am just in the midst of switching gears. I still have the remaining 8 days of actual classes left (not that I'm counting!). So, intermingled in there are exams and finals, but also 2 papers and 2 presentations. I think I'm going to focus them both towards my first love...cardiology!! I'm strangely excited!! It will be my first and likely last attempt at using Power Point, so it should be rather interesting.
I'll have the opportunity to work the next couple of Fridays to bring in some money and get these vet bills paid! Good news is that my amended return I filed for the state was processed within 4 weeks and got my refund check today :) Yay! I just learned this year that I can deduct the interest I pay on my student loans...so, I not only had that on my 2004 return, but I also went back and amended both of my returns from 2003!! Now, I'm just waiting on that check from the amended federal return!
Back to my research :)
