studying, studying, homework, and more studying! That pretty much sums up life lately.
Hallo got her labs back today. It was her 1 month follow up to her radiation treatment for her thyroid & renal disease update. Her thyroid is good...it is actually in range, which apparently it ends up too low and then comes up. So, we will eval it in 2 more months to be sure we got it all-otherwise she goes back for another treatment (no cost!). Her renal values are about the same...with her ability to concentrate urine slightly worse :( So, with the new vet's advice, I learned how to administer SQ fluids for her. The trick is to teach her that it is a event she looks forward to because it makes her feel better. At least I'm learning she likes to lie down on the floor on the driver's side backseat kicked back with classical music blaring when she goes to the vet!! I kid you not!!! She also started on Pepcid AC that will help with the acidity in her tummy to reduce her vomiting spells (common with renal disease). I love her dearly and just hope that all this is step in the right direction as far as making her more comfortable. I treasure everyday I have with her :) It is still unbelieveable that this is my 6 week old kitten that I found in a pet store in Sacramento, CA that today has been replaced with a Hot Topic!!
