After (Storm damage 5/31/08)

The court was a complete mess.

Dirt filling the corner of the driveway.  The water was moving so fast because of how fast it came down.  We have a couple of spots where the drainage pipes were uncovered and some cable lines.  We also have 'mini mudslides' from the mulched areas into the grassy areas in the yard, even though they are separated by stones.

This 120 foot tall tree was laying sideways with all it's roots exposed.  It landed on the retaining wall of the house behind it.

The winner?  This tree!  It was in the 'alleyway' where all the other trees had major damage.  It looks to be completely fine.  Must have Mother Nature's good side....

We're doing just fine.  Thirteen hours without power didn't kill us.  We played triopoly and headed to bed.  Looks like everything in the freezer and refrigerator made it.  I hope I can get photos of the tree that crushed the golf course barn.  It seems that the storm did most of it's damage in a northeastern line.  We were right smack dab in the middle.  There were 2 apartment complexes that collapsed and a gas station that leaked and a natural gas leak that caused an evacuation.

All this... and nary a tornado in sight! We did supposedly have winds up to 70mph. I believe it. We had 3/4 inch hail. I really thought a window would break before it was all over.
