Paid user now

Okay! I'm a paid LJ user now. But looks like, by LJ's policy, I cannot place Click-Through Ads on my LJ pages. Extending that, I cannot place Y!Q as well, I suppose.

The other day, shivku and I were talking about how it is ironic to provide RSS feeds on a blog _and_ put google ADs on it. Assuming the population of those who hit myblog.livejournal.com are really minimal and assuming the majority uses an RSS reader, the space used by the ads is a total waste.

All that is okay. I got a paid account now. This means:
  • Neater inclusion of LJ on my home page (which exists for the sake of it, unmaintained and rotting, anyway) rather than through a hacky thing that I've been doing all these days.
  • I can create syndicated feeds for folks that I really want to track through my LJ friends page. Infact, I just created jaagruthi to start with :)
  • My posts will be fully navigatable. Many a times I've badly wanted to go past the '40 posts' limit into my older entries without taking trouble (ie.,. going through the calendar, etc.,.) Now I can! This really matters a lot to me, to go back to my older entries occasionally and see how I've "changed".
