So, as some of you may know, my sister and I are in a competition with one another over who can make the other awesomer birthday cakes. As of right now, I am ahead by two years- here is the castle cake of 2008 and the rainbow cake of 2009.

So, after years of walloping my sister's ass in the birthday cake department, MEL HAS FINALLY STEPPED IT UP.

I woke up to two cakes- one, a Hello Kitty face and cake shaped and frosted like Madeline. Both homemade chocolate cakes that I love so much, both designed to be AWESOME.

22 is shaping up to be pretty good, so far.

So, because my sister is still sick and my family doesn't want to get people ill, my extended family isn't coming over.

So, it was my sister's sixteenth birthday yesterday. We went out to dinner as a family on Saturday, then we're having a party for her friends on Friday night and my dad's family is coming on Saturday/Sunday. Today was good- I had dinner with my family and Tata and Becca, got nice presents, talked to a lot of people on the phone, got bombarded with happy messages on Facebook and LJ... so thanks everyone for wishing helping me celebrate my birthday!

So, my mini birthday celebration was tonight, because we aren't going to be in Gainesville for my birthday and Katie and Chloe planned this whole lovely gathering.
