Baby Robin update

So I am going camping for the next five days with two good friends so I won't be around but before we got all busy this morning, I checked up on my baby robin. He's doing fine, getting a few feathers and feeding a lot! As long as he doesn't know that I am there, he just lies there and you can see his whole body pulsate as he breathes....it's actually kinda strange. But, if he senses you, he perks right up and opens his mouth as wide as he possibly can. His eyes aren't open yet so it's all sense. Mother robin is doing a great job; it seems like she is constantly foraging for worms (which makes sense as I read on the internet that baby robins need to be fed every 20 to 30 minutes!). We weren't sure if she'd be a great mother because let's be honest, it is a bit late in the season for eggs to be hatching AND she built her nest in a hanging basket outside an often used front door! But all seems to be going well. I'm sad that I'm going away cause I'll miss the hatching of the other two eggs and when I get back, my baby robin will probably be a screaming brat! :)

See, you can see his few feathers coming in.
