Life has been moving along smoothly so far. There's hasn't been a whole lot going on, but condensing a few weeks into a journal entry could make it all seem like a lot...
First... work:
Last week, my supervisor was out of town on a business trip. Most of that time, I was on my own... mainly because there were no projects for me to do. I tended to be a janitor of sorts once I got the work I had already started before he left done. It made me feel a bit useless, but I'm getting paid well for those janitorial duties, so I guess I shouldn't complain.
Today, I got an email from my supervisor noting the great job someone else had said I had done in writing up my report... it being so informative and whatnot, so that made me happy, even if the way it was written was a bit corny (WAY TO GO, TONY!!!, or something along those lines.)
Today, when I spoke to Greg, he mentioned that it sounded like my interests might be better suited for a different type of occupation. This isn't to say he thought I should quit my job. However, maybe that's something to look into in the future. I could end up going for another degree and try something new if this doesn't work out quite as I like it.
Speaking of things I don't like so much at work, Abe tends to rattle off about stupid things. He'll make inane observations and so-called jokes. He also seems not to be fond of homosexuals. In fact, he noted that on my first day on the job. I felt like saying, in a sarcastic way, "Thank goodness no homosexuals work here." I couldn't cause troubles so early on, though. Maybe, in time, I'll do something about it.
Outside of that, not much else new there.
With this job, though, I've been able to take care of some things. I got a new pair of glasses. I bought a new monitor. I got a few new pairs of shoes, pants, shorts, etc. It's a good thing, too, considering all of the weight I've gained. It was a good thing, but... waiting to get some of the new clothes has been a bit painful. At least my weight seems to be steadying out now.
I also got a cell phone. It seemed very necessary, and I guess it can be useful. It has helped now and then. It'd just be nice if I was able to get the plan my dad has. He has free nights and weekends, plus rollover minutes. I'd be able to use my phone more often. On top of that, his nights start an hour earlier than mine do. Too bad I couldn't get a plan like that.
My youngest sister started high school band camp this week. She's been exhausted at home, but still has plenty of energy for screaming... ugh. She's also been a bit disappointed with the way things are working for her. I'll try to support her, but... it's tough to be there for her with work... and with the other sister always being in that part of her business as well. I'll watch the practice sometime next week when I can go after work. Or maybe not.... since my sister has noted some opposition to that idea. Oh well... we'll see. Maybe if things go better, she'll be more open to the idea.
I don't think there's much else to tell. Things with Greg and I are going great. We're approaching a one year anniversary. I just can't wait. And maybe shortly after that, we'll end up going to Orlando again... at least that seems to be the plan. I'll write again soon.
