a quick update...
...before i head to bed. i've been sleeping by 10pm these days because i have to get up at insanely early hours to get to work. *not as bad as stu though who gets up at 4am this week to go to the sunrise shift*.
SO
after i did the happy dance last friday at getting the lecturing job at the university of wollongong i've been doing the busy dance. i travel to and from the gong everyday which is a journey of roughly 5 and a bit hours. as if this wasn't enough - the job i have taken over is lecturing in sociology for a class that was supposed to be run this semester by some other lecturer who is now terminally ill - so they had to get a replacement fast. FAST. one week prior to lectures fast. in the last week i have been given an office, semi-trained in uni web teaching stuff, not trained at all in class management and written a course outline, syllabus and put together readings. next week i start lecturing! i have nothing planned and this weekend all i worked on was my first lecture. i'm going to do it as i go each week. one step ahead of the students.
yah!
and just to complicate matters further we are now looking for places to live that are halfway between sydney and 'gong. this will cut out travel time for me - but i feel guilty because it means stu will have to travel more...
but there are some pretty houses in the south coast. we looked at some places this weekend in thirroul, austinmer, scarborough and wombarra. real pictaresque. but stu and i have our hearts set on stanwell park...it has stunning views and is easier for stu commuting wise. there are some rentals opening up next week in stanwell which we will check out next weekend. they are a bit over our budget but i loves them so!
life is all topsy turvy at the moment. i leave home at 6am and don't return till close to 8pm. the house is in a mess and i seem to be walking around with 'maybe i should talk about this in my lecture' bubbles over my head. the travel makes me tired and i am stressed and not eating properly. but god dammit i am happier than i have ever been in ages! so i must be doing something right.
