Spring breaks a headache

Spring break is more like catch up week for me. I got Maya to function on my machine (the downside being he PDM keylogger i had to remove) and i can do my homework now. The Borg model is coming along ok but im still trying to understand edge looping. I was suppose to turn in a vis dev assignment over spring break but thats sorta lame- your not suppose to have work due in the middle of your vacation. Im late turning it in and even now im stil picking away at this thing, trying to draw all the little props and details.

Life seems to be dragging right now. The wedding planning is weighing me down and the closer i get to the date the more confused I become. I finalize things like flowers and catering only to have my family poke in and suggest I do something totally different. Im not sure they understand but i don't have time in my schedule to spend another weekend to taste more cake or browse menus- especially when i already did all that weeks before and was happy with my decision. I work and and I have school so its hard to take time out and run errands.

Speaking of work, im not sure how i feel about teaching. I like kids OK, and they are fun to talk to, and even more fun when they listen. I have my little favorites who i like to work with and i follow their progress but than i have the kids i despise and ignore. I try to take on the tough kids because other teachers dont like working with them either and obviously their paintings suffer. But I realize that they obviously don't want to be there. I just get annoyed that they don't listen or they do listen but just chose to ignore me outright. I almost made a girl cry yesterday because i told her she was doing awful work. A nine year old nightmare whose painting is dozens of layers thick- who I sit with patiently for stretches of time helping her get the correct color and shape only to turn my back for a minute and she painted the exact same thing wrong that we just spent hours fixing - I had just told her specially to leave it alone . Normally I wouldn't care- its there painting not mine- but the last thing I want is for a parent to lay into me about why their kid's work looks like a palette that's dropped on the floor. Dont even get me started on the kid that pokes me in the back with his dirty gloves.
Honestly some of the kids that are little terrors are the ones that just had tennis practice right before class, and than girl scouts before that. I have had kids with 4 or more major activities in a row. No wonder they come to a 7pm 2 hour panting class tired and cranky and lazy- i would be too. I give credit to the ones that hang in there.

I tried to get an interview with Zynga through my school , I didn't get chosen, but Im trying not to feel so bad because they only talked to 4 out of 50 kids for internships. I really enjoyed their presentation though and I would love to work there. At least i got a free Farm-ville shirt. I think next year I will apply again but this time i will narrow down my portfolio more to their style.
