We wish you a Merry....??
Hello everyone! I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa..holiday! Being in the cohort and taking that diversity class has really changed my holiday season. Every time someone has wished me a Merry Christmas either at work, a store, the dentist office..I've been thinking how do they know I'm Christian? I keep saying Happy Holidays..which almost seems to ruin the Christmas spirit for me. I remember the past few years it was only safe to say Happy Holidays. But this year everyone is saying Merry Christmas which I guess now means Happy Holidays?? It's really confusing. My Jewish dentist said Merry Christmas to me like three times while I was there a few weeks ago. And I was like do I say it back? So I said Merry Christmas and he gave me a weird look. Maybe I should just start saying Merry Christmahanukwanza or whatever. lol.
I'm in a really good mood right now. I've had some health concerns since fall semester that have been in the back of my mind. Like I didn't know if it was a problem or not but I was always stressing about it. And then the stress got worse and worse so much that I was almost always thinking of it. I sometimes do that- just worrying way too much. So I went to the doctor yesterday to put my mind at ease and she said I was fine. So I am really relieved. I'm glad I was stressing about nothing but feel kind of stupid for making it such a big deal.
School Box has been giving me quite a few hours and so my paycheck on Friday was very full which made me happy! I went to Target yesterday and bought myself a bunch of shirts cause I was like I have money- I get to buy some clothes! I haven't been able to spend money on myself in so long! The School Box is expanding into the store next door so it's been crazy coming in every day with the store constantly changing. I get to help with all the moving and packing and other stuff..and I get to wear jeans!! :)
I haven't gotten to hang out with friends as much as I have other breaks but we still have had some fun times. Ashley planned a Lake Lanier Nights of Lights trip and so Ashley, Lauren, Alisha, Wes, and I had fun driving through the lights, roasting marshmallows, and going on a few rides. Kristen, Kaitlyn, and I have had a few movie nights- some of the movies were good, others were interesting. I went to Dave and Busters one night with Wes, Daniel, Thomas, Cara, and Sandi which was a lot of fun. Sandi and I went to Cheesecake Factory and saw The Holiday- amazing movie and Sandi is amazing! And then last night I went and saw the Pursuit of Happyness and went to Chilis with Erin, Sandi, and Megan. We had some good laughs at Chilis! I can't believe Erin and Megan aren't gonna be at GC&SU this spring- its gonna be so weird!
I'm really excited about New Years- gonna be some good times! I hope everyone has a very Happy New Year! I'm going to be headed back to Mville on Jan 6- a week from today. This break really has flown by! Once again I'm torn between being ready to go back and still wanting to stay home.. :)
