Work today was...good. I got a credit application (we get points for those), I sold an insurance plan for a piece of jewelry (we get a lot of points for that) and I chatted with a Spanish family and solved their problems for about 45 minutes, and the closing manager was there, and I'm pretty sure I impressed her with my lingual prowess. I'm pretty sure because she said, "Hmm. That was impressive. So you're pretty proficient at Spanish, then, huh?" -)
And I rearranged the jewelry on one of the turnstiles for about 45 minutes. Strange how focused you can get trying to organize little bits of shiny plastic into some semblance of a pattern. It was like a puzzle that I could do in a trance state. Restful, but mentally stimulating in a way; geometric relations played a big role.
Aw, shoot. Speaking of geometry, I'm taking the GRE on the 12th, and I haven't seen the inside of a math book in about 3 years. Sigh. Hope I do all right, since I don't really foresee myself seeking out a math tutor in my precious free time.
In othe news, I might quit my job. Not because I don't like it or I think it's not a good job to have...it is a great job in comparison to some of the things I've done; relaxed atmosphere, friendly cool co-workers, personable, human-like managers...but I don't really need the money, and it puts my plans at crisis level all the time because I never know when I'm going to be scheduled from week to week. I'm going to ask my mom about it and see what she thinks, but meanwhile, I'll roll it around in my mind...it's not as if I couldn't get another job, if the urge struck me. That's never really been a problem of mine. Good karma, I guess.
Oh, yeah. One other thing: Who's up for a group viewing of "Serenity," which comes out on Friday? Me, me, me! For those of you who don't know, Serenity is the movie based on the show Firefly, which I've watched and which I loved. Hooray!
