Delay Steps Down!
"Indicted majority leader steps down
Today a Texas grand jury charged House Majority Leader Tom DeLay for conspiracy.

According to the indictment, $190,000 in corporate contributions to TRMPAC were sent to national Republican Party committees. Those committees then sent the money to GOP candidates in the 2002 legislative races, which solidified Republican control of the Legislature and led to a mid-census redistricting push that shifted the balance of Texas' congressional delegation toward the GOP.

As required by House Republican rules and the Attourney General's office, the minority leader will step down from his position. He will remain seated on the House of Representatives where he has served since 1985. That is all."

Just thought I'd share this. I found it on Chiho's journal, but it made me so happy. I hope it does you, too. And in case any of you were unaware of the giant tub of charm and wonder that has been Tom Delay these past few years, let me sum it up for you: Republican, Gun-toting, arrogant, conservative, red-faced, fat-necked fucktard. That was for you, Greg.

In other news, the quiz I feared so much was not today, but will be tomorrow. Thank goodness. I was trying to get my reading done last night (I got done with class at 1 and had to be to work by 1:30 until 9:30) after I got home, but I fell asleep and woke up at four in the morning, curled up with my textbook and high lighter. It was lame. I desperately tried to finish the reading during my free hour before weight lifting, but only got half of it done. Tonight I will persevere, however. I will be bolstered by the knowledge that one of W's favorites is getting his ass handed to him by some sort of fierce questioning committee sometime in the future. Mmmm. Delicious tears of Republican sadness...
