Well, I had my first real day of work at Biolife today. That was...well, it was super boring, but not too terribly arduous. I spent six full hours reading SOPs (or Standard Operating Procedures, for the uninitiated), which are super-technical, obstinately detail-oriented instructions on everything from what to do if there's a fire in the building to what we're not allowed to say when the FDA inspector comes calling.
Every possible thing that could happen in a facility that deals with blood and blood products (just so you know, such a facility actually falls under two different government branches with respect to regulations, since different branches consider blood both a biotic and a drug...so, twice as many rules to follow) is dealt with in detail in the book. Well, four different books, actually. Man, it was tedious. I haven't studied like that in...well, a long time. Probably well before I graduated. And there were even tests on all the technical crap. It was great.
It wasn't digging ditches, though, so I don't know what I'm whining about. And everyone at the center seems super nice. My real trouble is going to be remembering everyones' names, since there are dozens of people who work there.
I have a lot more training ahead of me, so I understand. Two other people were just recently hired, and the assistant manager was talking about how quick they had managed to complete their training: "Yeah, she's only been here about 3 weeks, and she's just about finished." So, I expect that today will be the first in a long series of really boring days. But at least I'm getting paid. Eventually.
I think I'm going to bed in a few minutes, since things are pretty quiet around here tonight. But first, a survey.
Be HONEST no matter what.

40. Do you act different around your crush? I'm likely more myself around him than anyone else.
