Scariest Day of the Year

Oct 31, 2005 10:36

Well, its not quite the scariest day yet. The scariest day will be if Proposition 2 passes, and our rights are fucked. A man and a man, or a woman and a woman cannot get married, or even have a civil union that would award them the same rights - legal, financial, or religious - as a heterosexual couple. This would also deny rights to a woman and a man who were living under a common-law marriage.

Guess what? If you vote early, it takes a lot less time to stand in line and save our freedom than if you went on election day, which is November 8. These two links might be able to help you. The first one will tell you where you need to go to vote based on what precinct you're in. The second one is more for people in the allen/plano area. It tells you what the early voting hours and locations are. USE THESE. Please.

Now that thats out of the way.

Theres trick or treating at my school today in some of the offices. But thats so much freaking candy, and I bought some chocolate yesterday anyways. And Mom bought a shitton for the trick or treaters who will come tonight...which there probably won't be many of. Its been declining the last few years.

Its pouring currently, and has been since about 9.30. And as we left class, and everyone started rushing to get to cover as quickly as possible, I just pulled up my hood and walked slowly. The rain was rather soothing. I like it. I don't relish getting soaked though, with no close change of clothes, so I'm glad I'm relatively warm and dry in the Campus Center. I don't have class until 1.30.

Ooooh, later in the year when it gets colder, they light a fire near where all the couches are. Its a fake fire though, so it doesn't get that hot, but if you can manage to find a seat on the fireplace, its a nice feeling.

Time, I think, to find Jay and go get some eats. Monday is sausage day!
