Finals are over. Finally, the semester ends. Grades are posted Tuesday, or maybe Wednesday, and I feel fairly confident that I'll either get a 4.0 or something fairly close. I think I'll at least make it on the Dean's List. It's about time all that study time paid off

Nice posting. Honest, upbeat, straight-forward. As always, I enjoy it when you write. Especially when you write in a somewhat positive frame of mind. I realize that it can't always be that way, but your mind opens up so much more and it extends your ability and expression in those moments. I got such a sense of growth and a related maturity from what you said. It partly inspired me and partly made me proud to both know you and have hopefully had some effect on your thinking over the last couple years. Many of your philosophical representations so much mirror my own.
Glad to hear you kicked ass this semester. You deserve it for all your hard work.
I'm busy working on the new deal. Lots of good things and even more potentially good things going on. I'm flying to Denver this Friday with my boss to meet with a potential investor/consultant who is an expert in satellite geological remote-sensing. I'm learning so much about an industry that I knew almost nothing about. So when I am not busy working on a research issue or doing something setting up the new office, I am hard-core reading books on Petroleum Engineering and the industry in general. So while my poker hours have greatly diminished, and I am not going out at night with friends and partying, I am finding rewarding days in participating in entrepreneurial endeavors and educating myself on a totally different tangent. The only crappy part of it is now that we have an actual office opened up, I can't work out of my house anymore and have to make the big commute to Bellevue (about 1.25 hours in the AM, and 1 hour in the PM), but I am using that time to catch up on new music. The latest band that I am really into is Carbon Leaf, love their stuff.
IF I don't get a chance to talk to you before the holidays...all the best to you and your family.
Peace and out...

I'm glad you saw my post for what it was an attempt at ... turning negative assumptions into positiveness? or something like that. Anyway, thanks again for the nice comment.
Sorry I haven't talked to you in a while, but it sounds like you've been pretty busy yourself over the past few months ... congrats on everything! You're making quite a life for yourself and you're learning everything along the way. You're kind of like a self-taught businessman! Very impressive!
Anyway, I'm gonna run and try to finish laundry and put up the Christmas tree today, I just wanted to respond w/ a quick little note saying thanks. Hope your holiday is great and the food is even better ;)
