Damn. I was awake again. And I sure as hell wished I wasn't. I've been beaten up, thrown into walls, hit with weird tenticle things...but none of that ever hurt like this. It took me a moment to realize where I was

I looked outside and couldn't believe another day had almost gone through. Then it hit me. Nicole and I have not been to sleep in over 24 hours. Not to mention the lack of food. We only ate a late lunch when we got here yesterday. Okay I know I just started Hemery but I so aint going to school tomorrow, I plan on sleeping. I know that if I do go to classes they will all be sleep 101.

My face was still bothering me but not really paying much attention to it. I had set the ice pack down sometime last night cause it had melted so wasn't really doing much of anything and I didn't want to go talk to the nurse to get another one. It's only a bruise, I'll heal. Just might take a bit longer then i hoped.

"LA...traffic...bad."

I looked at Nicole as she said that clearly the girl was getting tired. But can you blame her? I mean I am tired to but Cordy and Fred or anyone else from AI has showed up yet. I know it's rude to leave right away. But once they show up I am prolly going to leave. Just because again I am not a big fan of hospitals. I doubt there are many people out there who actually like them but I' just so beat. Nicole is doing one hell of a job keeping from crying...I think my tears are even to tired to cry.

"W-what happened?"

I looked from Nicole to Gunn who started writing on his piece of paper. Maybe a animal got in his way and he served to miss it. Whatever it was that happened I was about to find out.

Not sure. Got a call from English saying Fred needed help. Next thing I remember, is the truck doing a roll-over dive into the ditch. I tried calling English, but probably, with this jaw, he couldn't hear me.

Cell phones and driving I knew that was a bad idea. But I think what might of happened is since he loves Fred, and heard she needed help he probably got sidetracked. Sounds like a reason for it happening.

Hurts bad. Get a nurse...ple..

I looked down at what Gunn had just wrote and before I could even say another word Nicole had already walked out the door and into the hallway. About a minute went by before Nicole had re-entered the room pushing a nurse in also.

“Now, he’s in pain...you do your thing and put an end to that, nurse Betty.”

She called the nurse Betty and I couldn't see her name tag so I wonder if that was her actual name. For people we don't know there names...more like don't really care what there name is either we call the ladies Betty and the guys Bob. Not sure why either that or Hey you. Whatever got there attention. The nurse started to talk then was cut off once she used the word but.

“But what? I want him looked after every second that he has to stay in this place. Don’t care what it cost or what it takes. Call an off duty nurse for all I care, just have someone HERE at all times for him.”

I just stayed to myself there. Nicole was set on something she is going to do what she can to make it happen. Finally the nurse started doing her job and said she understood which Nicole wasn't buying, but I didn't blame her. Just then Nicole walked over to me.

“Keep an eye on--her. Gonna go make a call.”

I looked to the nurse as she was checking charts and doing all that sort of stuff as Gunn just lied there. Then I looked back at Nicole

"Ya don't worry I got it all covered."

::I watched as Nicole walked out of the room once again. I kept my distance so not to get in the way. She was doing her job so I will let her keep doing that, but if she stops look out...I will just have to tell her to...uh well get back to her job which is making sure Gunn doesn't feel any pain. OH! I got a solution every time Gunn feels pain the nurse is going to feel pain..there we go problem solved.

I made my way back to Gunn's room and paused a moment to compose myself before reentering. Dawn was still watching the nurse like a hawk while she tended to Gunn.

"Wes says ...hi." Ok, I lied, so sue me. "He's on his way, and you're going with him." I look to Dawn for a moment. "You've been here long enough, but I'm so not having you drive." Summers+car=badness... I'm no math geek, but that equation definitely adds up.

She probably wasn't too happy that I had arranged for her to be escorted home, but the truth of it is...I didn't really care.

"If Cor or Fred--or...both--show up before him then I'll go with...if not then--I wont."

Gunn had not mentioned of any pain which is great news and the nurse is prolly really happy of that to. Cause I wouldn't hold back. One little ow for him is one big ow for her. I gave a weird look as that thought went through my mind. I looked over my shoulder as Nicole finally walked back in.

"Wes says ...hi."

I looked at her. Then thought about that. Last time I saw Wes was when he was Buffy's watcher and well that didn't end to well....for him anyway. I was about to say something just as Nicole continued on

"He's on his way, and you're going with him."

I stood there in shock. She couldn't be serious. But I knew there was still more to come. I mean she can't just tell me I am leaving like that and not have something to add to it. Plus there was know way I was leaving her here alone I already told her that.

"You've been here long enough, but I'm so not having you drive."

Okay well ya I have been here awhile now but Nicole has been here just as long as I have. Haven't heard anything from that Abby chick but then I haven't been at school to run into her today either. Haven't heard anything from Buffy I guess she is at her new job or something. Then when she mentioned driving I can see why she wouldn't want me to drive. I am a good driver I defiantly didn't get my skills from Buffy, but I haven't had any sleep really in the lsat few days cause I have been here then the other night I slept at Nicole's but it was more research then sleep.

"You so can't be serious!. I have been here with you the whole time you can't just except me to just up and leave you here alone. I mean if it's because you think Buffy is worried about me well I don't really care because once I leave I am going to be worried about you."

I kept my voice down after all Gunn was right there so I didn't want to make him worry about anything. I leaned back against the wall and thought about what Nicole had just said.

"If Cor or Fred--or...both--show up before him then I'll go with...if not then--I wont."

I looked back up at her. Okay I was a little mad but I pushed that aside. Cordy and Fred...they were suppose to be here like 5 hours ago know chance they are going to show up first. I mean it's Cordy since when is she ever on time. Well less there is a sale at the mall. I shook my head and looked the other way just as that nurse from the front desk walked in.

"Hey you girls, you are going to have to come out now there are two other girls out front." I looked to the one girl then to the girl leaning on the wall."There is one who must be related to the short one there cause well she was well no need to talk about that now is there anyway if you two would please follow me. Can't have more then two people in the room at a time"

I looked over to Nicole with that look can I please smack her now...please!. I touched Gunn carefully on his head he had fallen back asleep or was just resting but I didn't want to disturb him,then I walked out of the room and followed the nurse as I looked back and waited for Nicole to come out also.
