Waking up is hard to do *ducks*

Damn. I was awake again. And I sure as hell wished I wasn't. I've been beaten up, thrown into walls, hit with weird tenticle things...but none of that ever hurt like this. It took me a moment to realize where I was.

"Aw hell, the hospital," okay, that came out "awhelltheihahpitslp". I couldn't open my mouth. Just from that, I guessed my jaw was wired shut. Do you know what that means I have to eat until they unwire it? Don't even wanna think about it.

So I hit the button for the nurse.

"Mr. Gunn, you're awake." Yah, and you're perky..too damned perky if you ask me I didn't even bother trying to say it out loud. So I nodded. Damn. That hurt too. And my left wrist and right leg. Must have been some other fight. Now I need someone here to say "you should have seen the other guy".

"Do you hurt?" I nodded, more slightly, again. She pushed a button on one of the pumps next to me, and the pain started to fade.

"There are two people here to see you," she continued. I was so hoping she said Fred and Cordelia.

"It's a..um..Dawn Summer's and her friend. I didn't quite catch her name." Dawn Summer's. Must be Buffy's kid sister. Well, someone was better than no one. I motioned for a piece of paper, which they had at bed side. Guess it was well known I wasn't going to get to talk for a while.

Yes, please. And did someone call Angel Investigations? I wrote the number for that down too, with the word family written next to it.

She smiled, showed me which button to push when it hurt (it only works every 15 minutes) and went to find the girls.

She let them know he was awake, and was willing to see them.
