Turning back to the now open door, I saw a man standing there.
"Vampire," I growled as my sense perceived what he truly was.
My holy sword immediately whipped up into a defensive position as I took a step back.

I walk over and stand beside the two as they stare each other down.
“Hey! Sir slice’n’dice, Fred’s been swell with the hospitality so the least you can do is not kill her friends.”
And this is why we take swords away from strangers. It’s all fun and games till someone loses a limb.
“This is Angel. One of the people you have been waiting oh so patiently for. So, offing him would kinda make your wait a bust. And yes, he’s a vampire...but he has a soul. It’s a--thing.”
I slowly realized getting mad at him was pointless. Fred and I hadn’t exactly filled him in on who (or what) was coming--names not withstanding. And Angel was just as clueless on what he had just stepped in on.
“Angel, this is Michael. He’s a knight--apparently--works for the Powers.”
