Who: Clive, OT anyone
Where: Willy's
When: Saturday night
Clive looked around, shaking his head. He hadn't expected to see the place so quiet, but he supposed that even demons needed some time off. Still, he thought, it's a damn sight better than the Bronze or the Sunset.
He sipped his drink, reflecting that, all things considered, it had been a good few months. He reflexively touched the necklace, feeling the pattern under his fingertip. That had been the biggest change of all, and while he wasn't ready to be a full-time Chumash tour guide, he'd come to appreciate the bond that the little band now shared.
Keeping half an eye on the door (old habits were sometimes the best ones, and never died hard), he wondered what those kids were up to today. Kayla was coming along nicely, if he did say so himself -- he usually had to work pretty hard to keep from taking more lumps than he gave, these days. And not a peep from the lawyers, either. That is less reassuring than I'd like, he thought. To keep from souring his mood too much, he concentrated instead on what everyone else was doing. People- (or demon)watching never got old.
