Woke up this morning to two kids frantically building and buying swimming pools, robots and throwing parties.. yes, they're totally into sims again. I guess I blame myself because I gave them both 2 million dollars and let me give some advice to anyone who is about to give their kids 2 mil... don't. Apparently Cameron has turned the second story of his house into a casino and gaming area and Conner has 15 pets (iguanas, dogs) which the dogs have their own castles. Needless to say, their characters aren't starving or upset, but venturing into the world of cheats and walkthroughs, one of the cheats for them to marry is for both partners to build up their friendship, jump into bed and click on "woohoo". Now, I have not known any solid relationships in real life that have ended up with a marriage by proclaiming 'woohoo' in the bedroom :P but I digress.
After getting tours of their houses (which they assured me they would build one day) we went to see Spiderman 3. All the hype and all the anticipation was worth it. This was an awesome movie and not in anyway a let down. I admire Sam Raimi for staying so close to the original script while only given 2 hours to push everything into. At one point I told Conner, "They are going to have to kill someone off soon, or else he'll be fighting 10 villians by the time they get to Spidey 5" Well, I'm not going to spoil any plot at this point, but I highly recommend this film. There was an appearance by Ash (any army of darkness fans will know who I mean) and Joxer (any Xena fans will know who I mean). I didn't find the infamous dodge that Raimi puts in all his movies, nor did I catch where he placed his wife, Lucy Lawless, but am looking forward to some other geek pointing that out.
After the movie, T had to go to work, so the kids and I went to garage sales. It was Garage Sale day today in town and it was fun looking through everyone elses junk when I have too much junk myself. I found a couple small things to add to my junk and then considered having a bonfire on myu lawn to get rid of stuff. I don't know why I hold on to things.. guess because most of the things I have can never be replaced. Pictures and memories. I will be taking a trip up to my grandma's later this month for a visit. I really enjoy the long talks we used to have and would love to go through old pictures with her. From the scots in my family tree to the crazy Irish... I love history. Want to start going through my house and listing all the keepsakes and things I have so that when I'm gone, others will know just why I held onto all of it. From the 2 A's baseball caps I have above my kitchen cupboards (Danny and Davids from a baseball game we went to) to the Mother hen I have on my mantle (my grandmother's who held the family together when she was alive) Nostalgic for many reasons, but mainly because I can be. I've been sorting and scanning old newspaper articles into the computer... ones from 30-40 years ago, and it's nice to know they'll be preserved now.. the paper was getting very old and crispy. Anyways, there I go rambling again. I'm going to bed now and going to get organized for school tomorrow... have to get my desk area together and mow the lawn. Til then... blessings
