[Screened to Diego, Phoenix and Miles -- a.k.a. The Manly Advice Filter]
My original plan was to phone Edgeworth about this, but then I thought, hey! Mr. Wright is attending as well... and Diego might want to take his new daughter! That's why I'm making a screened post about it here (don't worry, Edgeworth; I triple made sure it's properly screened)... The others might be interested. I'm talking about plans for SamuraiCon '20 on Global Day Weekend, of course.
Edgeworth, about your Steel Samurai costume: I bought the fabrics a week ago, and today I cut out the patterns. I checked your measurements with the real Steel's... You're not as bulky as he is and certainly not as tall, but the proportions are similar enough. It's going to look GREAT!!! I couldn't get my hands on the exact same material they use on the show for the silver parts, but what I bought does justice... trust me! It's going to look good both in person and in photographs, and it shines in a way it doesn't look cheap -- it's going to look professional. I figured out a way to put in battle damage without throwing off the entire weight balance of the outfit, too. Please DON'T worry about visibility and breathability of the mask -- I did enough research about that sort of thing for my own Mask*deMasque costume... I know how to make it PRACTICAL. (About the weapon -- for the main part of the spear, I'm going to use a curtain rod, so it's going to be light enough to carry all day but have enough weight to give it some realism.)
About Miss Starr's costume: I'm going to buy the materials for it tomorrow. This costume shouldn't be too hard considering there isn't much to it! The toughest thing to make will be the corset. I'm going to attempt to bone it like a real corset... and if that doesn't work, that's fine! There are less elaborate ways to get that waist-cinching effect. I'm confident this will turn out well, too -- most Enchantress costumes I've seen uses satin, which is just awful and OVERUSED!! I'm going to use a fabric of much higher quality.
TB3 tournament: You read Cody's journal entry, yes? He's going to be allowed to enter the adult division because he's such an advanced player! We're in trouble now... I don't think I stand a chance as plain EM, so I'm going to practice a LOT on Alt-EM (ZO) and Fukubashi. Oh, here's a tip: Cody's main is weakest against Enchantress, so I'd suggest practicing as her even though there might be many others going after the same strategy...! The prize still hasn't been announced yet, but winning isn't everything, yes?
Panels: There isn't a program up yet... but are you interested in attending any of the panels? I'm going to see the Neo Olde Tokyo Forums panel, at the very least. Surely you'll attend, too? You're a respected figure on the forums!!!
