Moving on.

"Mind if I take a rain check, even though it isn't raining?"

I knew Willow would make good on the promise she'd made the night before. She had something to do, something that I'm sure involved that Fred girl we ran into, and I wasn't about to try and stop her. She had her Resolve Face on. Anyone who knew Willow at all knew what that meant. I almost offered to go with her, but it was her business, not mine. If she wanted me to go with her, or somehow needed my help... she would let me know. So, with my girlfriend gone off on some secret mission, I found myself alone at the Espresso Pump. Well, not exactly alone. I'd been left in the company of Demon Anya and her friend Kyla. Nice girls, even if Anya's a bit on the odd side. Odd isn't bad in this town. In fact, you're lucky if odd is the worst quality you've got around here. There are far worse things to be. Evil and bloodsucking, for example.

I noticed a certain something different about Kyla, too, but seeing as I barely knew the girl, I wasn't about to ask about how she might spend her time during the full moon.

Anya and Kyla and I exchanged pleasantries and went our seperate ways. Of course, I didn't head back home before sitting down and treating myself to a cappuccino. Even though I would have enjoyed it more in Willow's company, I didn't feel like driving to the Espresso Pump just to turn around and go back to my apartment. Either way, I didn't stay long. I said goodbye to Anya and her friend, had my drink, and headed home. It turned out to be an uneventful evening. Did a little homework, watched a little TV, and eventually decided to just turn in.

I was back on campus early the next morning. I try not to get up before noon if I can help it, but I had an early class that day. Walking across the quad with my backpack slung over my right shoulder, I kept an eye out for Willow or any of the other Scoobies as I made my way towards the academic building. I didn't really expect to run into anyone I knew at ten o'clock in the morning, but you never know when some hellmouth-related emergency is going to crop up.

((Open to anyone.))
