Loving the storms that have been blowing through these parts lately. The wind, the chill and the sounds of raindrops tapping against my window make me so happy.
I had a great weekend that started out thinking I would breeze through having our 17 month old niece spend the night Friday. I'm not sure who I thought I was fooling but now that the weekend is over and I can gather all my thoughts and place them in nice, organized compartments in my head, I have come to the conclusion that (A) 17 month olds have a demon-like need to pick every single thing they lay eyes on up and either throw it, put it in their mouths or bang it against something and (B) I am ill-equipped mentally, physically and emotionally to handle (A).
Other than that, she was a dream.
Watching her fall asleep almost made up for her inability to sleep in the same position for more than 3 minutes:::
She woke up in the most adorable mood (it would have been so much more adorable if it weren't six in the morning but I still couldn't help but smile and laugh). I tried to take pictures but since I had slept the night with one eye open, I hardly had enough energy to hold the camera but I tried:::
I love her 'bed head' the most:::

In other news, every year when the Academy Awards list comes out I say I'm going to see all the 'best picture' films. This year proved to be no exception and today I was able to cross off Michael Clayton from the list. We drove up to Oceanside to have lunch and see the matinee. Since the ocean was only two blocks away, we wanted to go for a stroll on the beach after the movie but it was pouring.
Just a note about Michael Clayton--IT DOES NOT DESERVE THE OSCAR--the end.
Have a glorious Monday!
